Syms in the worst spot ever

Which is why I now play Mei. If I can’t drag bodies anymore I might as well just fling them in the air!

disagree. the angle they were likely going for (before they lost sight of it with infinite tp) was a sort of jungler zoner, i.e. sneaking around with tp, pouncing on people with tp + turrets for kills (then getting out the way she got in via tp) or building nests in territories that others won’t normally reach to claim territory and zone out the enemy. and this all could be done offensively or defensively i.e. to flank for picks, or to peel for backline, etc.

she was never meant to be a tank buster because she lacks the sustain to stay in the front lines long. her delays + fragility was supposed to encourage planning ahead and being sneaky (but too much so >.> ).

if still unclear of what I mean by a jungler zoner, (re-)read sym’s comic and imagine if sym could move tp around more. sym was infiltrating, claiming a piece of enemy territory, sneaking around, grabbing what she wanted, neutralising a few targets with her weapon, then getting out.

I used to play her in 2.0 (a lot) and 3.0 before the stupid TP changes and nerfs, now she’s garbage and unfun.

I miss sticky beams… it was meant for greatness. :neutral_face:

I don’t blame the rework for her current state, honestly. I blame the nerfs.

There was actually a period where she was doing better than she’d ever been.
Then she got nerfed.
And she was still doing okay.
Then she got nerfed again.
And again.
And again.
And again.
Then she was doing poorly once more.
So she got nerfed AGAIN.
With not a single ounce of compensation to be seen.

I miss old Photon Barrier, I really do, but Sym 3.0 CAN work. It’s just she’s not allowed to.

Turrets are unfun to play against cause you die to them ( play better). They do a measly 40 dps.

Reaper ult is unfun to play against… emp is unfun to play against…shall I name every Thing that gets me killed?

She was almost good - meta even, where it made sense for her to be - and they immediately snatched it away with nonsensical nerfs. That, even more than role queue, killed my ability to put up with this game. I said I would uninstall if those Sym nerfs went live the way they were proposed, and I haven’t touched the game sense.

Or many some people are just really good at the game and can make even bad heroes work. If a hero is so hard to play/understand that only a handful of people can succeed at it after all this time, that exposes a problem in itself with the hero.

That’s what they said about her tether beam, but wouldn’t you know it, removing that didn’t really change much did it?

It’s not the damage, it’s that I’d rather be shooting enemy players than shooting turrets, even if they do have low health. Turrets are a terrible and uninteractive aspect to any PvP game that just slow the game down and make it boring.

What do you propose instead? Turrets are such an integral part of her kit and identity. I don’t like how they hold her back but I can’t see them straight-up removed.

They should add a Sym voiceline for that.

her primary needs to go back to version 1, the succiness of death beam while retaining the ramping up of current attack.

I recon I want to see mei vs sym battles and wait anxiously for the mei to start cying about how op sym is.

If you’re talking downtimes you should talk about Ashe. She basically AFK’s for 3.5 seconds when full reloading. Getting Sym charge is pretty easy considering you can just hit the nearest Shield/fat dude available.

So basically a guaranteed kill with zero effort required on melee range? How about no.

Is that the rework’s fault though, or the fact that Symmetra 3.0 has been overnerfed to obscurity as of recently??
