Symmetra NERF misconception

Against armor her damage would be halved unless in 3rd stage that would be reduced 3 per tick.

Now her damage is 20% less effective agaisnt armor…

Thats a buff from 50% to 20% and in the 3rd stage will be doing 20% more damage than before.

They just confirmed it’s a nerf… So yeah

Nerf confirmed.

So we had this, other DPS heroes buffed, and a tiny bug nerf to ult charge during photon barrier.

Symmetra needed BUFFS not nerfs. Holy moly devs.

What he said doesnt make sense because if it is 20 ticks per second like we know her damage would be better.

Before against armor (assuming 20 ticks per second)
60 to 30/ 120 to 60/ 180 to 120

Now is:
60 to 48/ 120 to 96/ 180 to 144

Any tickrates we had were user speculation. A dev says it’s a nerf, so it’s a nerf, unless they made a grave error.

Idk those devs doesnt know how to give us proper information about the game.

course, who could blame them

they already made an error nerfing symmetra and saying it while seemingly not caring, and not buffing her at all even with QoL updates in a patch like THIS

what’s one more error

It was 4 ticks per second since Winter Patch.

That means 15% less dmg against armor with level 3 beam on the PTR.

They increased the number of ticks because of the “light saber” bug, where the Symm player would be clicking fast to get more than 300 DPS

Yeah, and then they fixed it back to 4 in the Winter Wonderland, along with brighter beam when connecting to enemy.

Any proof? Sorry i cant agree with that, if thats the case her beam was not fair at all, with only 4 ticks her damage would be not fun to play against.

60/120/180
15 per tick, 30 per tick, 45 per tick.

That means that the gun would deal too much damage since you can hit more than 4 times the same enemy in 1 second.

The first tick does miniscule damage to prevent her from doing that.

Still even with 99% of acc her beam would be the worst thing in the game by default since you need to have 100% acc to the first tick not count again.

Therefor we can conclude her tickrate is lower than 20.

Yes. That’s why you struggle to kill with her beam when your aim is off sometimes. I am sure you felt it sometimes when you played her.

Idk her beam feels nice tbh, takes too much time to kill something at level 1 but it doesnt feel too off.

I noticed this. Moderately high accuracy, but if, in .5 seconds, you hit for .24 seconds, then miss for .01, then hit for .24 again and miss .01, you get no damage output at all.

Also before when her beam was lock-on her tick rate was 7
