Maybe its fluctuation but I’m seeing some heroes still below her in usage rate and she got win rates above a bunch too, this is for the last month and week and for all the ranks. It’s really hard to asses the heroes and I get Symmetra fans are upset but exaggerating isn’t going to help. Basically what people want/need is for her to be less niche and usable on multiple maps and gain popularity by usefulness. I think she’s too built on having an established position first rather than engagement and dueling, so it’s rough for her if she’s not able to initialize and win team fights without the need to bypass entrenched enemies with teleporters. So, maybe they need to rework her abilities to be offensive oriented, like some sort of attack drone or something, which honestly will probably not happen till OW2.
You really compared Symmetra to Genji…Genji… poor wittle Genji. Him and Sym have been constantly battling for worst hero. Neither of them ever being dominant or strong. Both have been thrown in a horrendous balance cycle since release with rework after rework. Both with such low pick rates due to them being situational. Both hardly being played even in OWL. Yes, Genji is surely comparable to Sym in any way balance-wise, for he has gone through the same harsh changes.
You know when Sym got multiple abilities fundamentally changed or swapped/nerfed, that was just like Genji getting his fire rate nerfed. The agony and pain both mains felt as both characters were ruined. Maybe one day Genji won’t be hated and bullied by the dev team…
This was the case a while ago, about just before they changed teleporter from timed to infinite, where she was difficult but good in the right hands.
Now, with no shields to charge on any more and several straight nerfs, she’s just a liability and not worth playing.
She really can’t make any plays unless it’s one of the very few maps where it’s extremely close courters with a low ceiling…
She needs exactly the right conditions to even use her kit which just feels awful… She just keeps getting worst and worst…
Ah post number 504398 about Sym where you make factual inaccurate statements which is why again the Devs will never listen to you.
You can literally play Sym on every 2CP map and find value, several control (king of the hill) maps. 1st point of several hybrid maps. The only maps she’s actually really bad at are payload maps with lots of open space.
Sym is unplayable? Facts and real stats would like a word with you and show how wrong you are. Right now this month Sym has a HIGHER pick rate than Orisa, Sigma, Bap, Bastion then Mei, McCree, Echo, and Brig are all in her pick rate area.
Sym also has a current win rate of 53% which is higher than Moira, Bap, Orisa, Sigma, Mei, McCree, Echo, and Sombra. So people have a plus winning percentage with her and clearly are finding value out of her. This also shows there are plenty of worse hero’s than Sym currently in BOTH terms of pick rate and winning percentage.
Maybe learn how to play the hero and get better at the game. Also realize Sym is not going to ever be confused with Tracer.
But as someone already pointed out being a chronic liar and exaggerating the truth will never help you or your agenda. It just makes you look bad where you instantly lose all credibility with the devs.
Sym’s pick rate is “low” because her skill ceiling has everything to do with smart play (positioning, flanking, timing, turret placement - on a per map basis) and less to do with (aim) mechanics. Most people are just not capable of getting value from her, and those that claim she’s “bad” refuse to learn how to play her.
Stevo, a top 500 player, one tricks her and is able to get value out of her. The worst time for Sym was the Hog/Zarya meta. Even Stevo had an issue with it - saying it was the least fun for him having to right-click and hide constantly. Although he could still play her and maintain rank.
Since “Hog/Zarya + Ashe only one-shot meta” was nullified by recent patches, she is much more playable than she was.
lets gooooooooooooo!
You do realize that even if we complain, Blizzard can’t touch her until OW2 comes out, right? If they rework her now, only to rework her again in OW2, you’ll all b!tch and moan.
No. The opposite is the case.
Sym was considered “Meta” during double barrier because no one played her so far and no one knew how to deal with her.
Daily reminder that Symmetra still sucks.
Bad game design. If Blizzard wants us to primarily play hitscan then just delete all non-hitscan and replace them with new hitscan heroes.
So using her as a jump out of the starting games for your team then swap off to Tracer or Sombra is really fun hero design.
It’s the hypocrisy in this statement for me
They can’t at least buff her before then? Maybe let her be a viable-ish hero?
Or if they already have her reworked in OW2 just release an experimental card to live and let us play around with it a little. They don’t need to rework her twice.
Yeah whatever.
Here’s the harsh truth: Symmetra is not weak, most of you are just bad and can’t get value out of her as a situational hero.
And here’s the real harsh truth: You’re wrong.
She is good for TP to point for passing the choke on many 2CP points. Probably one of my most used strategys last times. Half of the time, my team still run on the other side or does not follow. I dont think she is bad. I think others are just better. And easier. Why working with your team when you can play Reaper as example? Or Ashe? Tracer on higher ranks? Or Widow if she hits her shots…
If your team works with you, she is good at what she was designed for. Making good TP ports is what makes the difference in Symm players imo. But again, you need your team to work with u. Others can work way more independent.
Also: She should be a healing utility support.
Just label a hero situational and call it a day. Lmao.
Its because they dont know how to balance sym.
this.
Jeff stated a while ago (months?years?) that the concept of switching heroes was made alogn side that all heroes arent always useful.
they wanted plaeyrs to swap for the situation…which ppl dont like doing.
tl;dr of it was he said that some heroes arent meant to be usable all the time.
At this point, the only conclusion I can come to is that Jeff is some sort of Godlike Symmetra player and regularly reks Geoff in their internal testplays.
