Symmetra is actually garbage right now

Why? What is the argument here other than the feelings of popular DPS?

The most logical answer is that team TP is broken exclusively in pro-play and she gets nerfed because of it, and not because she is ‘‘bad for the game’’.

In fact, almost every time that Sym gets nerfed the game gets worse. Its almost as if the DPS role needs a

Popularity and intentional meta enforcing.

Both heroes have/had high ranks in a toxic and unbalanced chokehold for months on end.

The nature of the game is one such that what is healthy is to have a diverse selection of viable heroes, and meta enforcing Soldier/Sojourn/Tracer as the constant meta has done nothing but degrade the game for everyone but their abusers.

Sym has been garbage since 3.0.

Go back to 2.0, what is the worst that can happen? Tracer players get sad? That sounds like an absolute win to me.

Yeah but it’s still odd, if that’s the case, why don’t they nerf the TP other players on the team can’t take the TP? Surely the balance team is smart enough to know that but yet they didn’t touch it.

Because pros and coaches like TP. But corporate doesnt like Symmetra.

The ‘‘middle ground’’ is for Symmetra to be a team TP slave only used from spawn and swapped to Watchable Tracer™ right after.

I don’t even think they have a consistent philosophy. A lot of the heros/changes feel like they went “wouldn’t it be funny if…” and then immediately added it to the game to be balanced later or added to the ever growing list of reworks.

Like if ult aren’t supposed to build while they are active like Ashe was able to with Bob, why can Ball still build ult while mines are out?

If we were cutting down on CC, then why did nearly every new character have some kind of displacement/slow. Kiriko is the only new character that didn’t have a slow/stun/boop/pull (Nevermind, I just rememberd. Suzu had a boop). I say this because I swear, I feel like I get knocked around in this game just as much if not more than ow1.

Or Sym getting her health toned down because she could two shot. Then when that got taken away with the break point update, she still didn’t receive the +25 back.

Nothing they do really makes sense, IMO. They just do it. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Hanzo buff was him getting his 1 shot back.

My problrm with os that her tp can be destroyed by ennemy team. So it is useless.

Even if it cant be destroyed, it is an obvious point of entry that can be camped. Ever seen a reaper TP infront of somebody? Dude gets erased the second the animation ends. Trying to use the TP in fights has the exact same problem.

Right, both moves are completely telegraphed and any team worth their /played time is drooling at the prospect of adding you to their tally on the scoreboard.

Well that particular t500 icon is only available to people who hit t500 in the modes that aren’t the main competitive one, so yeah htat would track lol

He also can headshot, insane fire rate for more damage per bullet that is also easier hit, all compared to her projectiles, multiple ways of instant reloading and also damage resist on two of his abilities with probably the easiest high value CC in the game to land.

Especially when you consider the HP of his mines and how long they last lol

Aim is still very important, why do people act like aim is an overrated concept in an FPS game? There is no overwatch pro that does not have cracked aim that purely runs off 200iq game sense

She needs to be 2.0 again, 3.0 has been a resounding failure.

Sym doesn’t need to be good, you can’t change anything about her without removing the turret, teleporter, or both.

Overwatch is a hero shooter before a CoD/Valorant-like FPS.

Why would you want to remove turrets? They are not a problem.

How is it broken for pro play? When has Sym ever been played by pros specifically for tp outside a couple koth maps?

I space but stack all 3 turrets then protect them as a Torb would protect his.

Then primary fire whoever gets tagged by turrets.

This strat works for me.

Yeah, and aiming isnt even the only relevant mechanic skill required for it.

Even if we are just talking about mechanical/coordination skills, aiming isnt the only one.

All mechanics in the game require aiming in a way.
tracking? Aim needed
Movement? Goes hand in hand with good aimers

We literally had a pros using Sym to carry around Mauga or counter enemy Mauga’s ult. Why do you think they emergency nerfed Sym? Because John Reddit claimed she was stomping bronze? lol

And the way they used it does not translate well to ladder usage by normal people, because its the kind of team TP usage that requires a team being a precoordinated team.

Which Sym does have anyways, so what is your point?
