Sym only players..why do you do it?

I’m not a Sym player and I’m not a one trick, but as someone who started playing competitive because it was the only environment in which you could actually practice playing a DPS hero when the game had first dropped, the answer is much more practical than you might expect.

It’s effort.

If you go to a dojo and you fight everybody there, who will you learn more from… The newbies, the senior students or the master?

You cannot learn how to be better from competition that is below your skill level and Competitive Play is the only avenue in Overwatch that yields any kind of worthwhile progression to players.

I absolutely despise them and do not want them on my team because choosing to one trick a DPS hero that is described as the exact opposite of being versatile is pretty much one of the worst things you could do to people as a teammate in Overwatch as the damage role is so pivotal and offers many different routes to success for flexible players.

There is merit to the pursuit of dedicating yourself to one hero as it will put you far ahead of the steep skill curve others will struggle to reach easily, but this does not apply to heroes that do not have a high skill ceiling.

I know that for some people it’s not that deep, but that is the reason why a lot of players one trick.
