i think most of us can agree that dc’s due to server errors or your internet quite honestly pooping out mid match shouldn’t be penalized like a rage quit. 9/10 times those people join back and, if you do join back you still catch a timer? make it make sense.
there is no reason fathomable that i can conjure that would explain still penalizing said person even after rejoining the match. is that not the purpose of allowing us to reconnect to said match? i feel like there has to be a better method and or way to help differentiate these dc’s from one another.
is it annoying? sure, however we have all be on the receiving end of these situations and probably all felt fairly cheated out with a timer. treating all dc’s like someone is just rage quitting with asinine timers, that only grow exponentially the more it happens within the day, eventually leading to a temp ban.
granted i’m smart enough to know when to call it a day if my internet doesn’t want to cooperate, or rather if the server (it is blizz after all, we won’t act like they got god tier server control) poops out.
i will only engage with comments with some sort of semblance to the topic. obvious rage baiting and trolling will be ignored with haste.

If the server disconnects you, it is your fault and you deserve the suspension.
Largely they are, due to the escalating punishments from repeat offenders.
So the person who’s constantly rage-quitting ends up getting more punishment (longer suspensions, or possibly even a ban) than someone who has some random DCs every now and then.
That said I have once been prevented from rejoining a match after a random DC due to the suspension timer. Or the rejoin option didn’t pop up leading me to miss the window of opportunity for that.
Either way, something out of my control got me suspended and that kinda sucks.
But at the same time, it’s understandable. There have to be punishments for leaving, and it’s not like the system can differentiate between random crashes and DCs, and someone purposely closing their game or internet connection.

i get it, i do. to a point that is… however at what point do we acknowledge this issue with not all ISP’s being top tier? and a lot of people do not have many options for ISP’s.
we should all be aware that there is more than likely a chart they have to keep track of dc’s and to also keep track of the stats of who rejoins a match in a timely manner.
which circles me back to one of my original points. if someone rejoins the match, they should not have to tank a penalization at that point there is no reward for doing so because the game still penalizes and tanks your rank percent.
i guess my overall point is, internet and server outages are very common. why penalize over something so small especially when the person rejoins?
i know there is a solution to this, has to be. i’m not asking for a god given system to be in place to differentiate whats what, i know how hard that could be, however we have to admit there is something.
if the dc problem happens to A LOT of ppl, yes i believe they suspend the penalties like an age ago
but on other random cases, there’s no way you can determine it’s bz cause the dc, so from system perspective you do leave the game and that’s why suspension is a green light
dc happes 1 or 2 times is fine, sh-t happens but if it comes up regularly and you’re the only one, might want to do some checking of yourself

if you really want, you can my comment above your in regard to ISP’s. i am more than well aware of client side and server side. i have been chipped by both, however this is one or two times ordeal maybe every other week.
i would totally love to change ISP’s and hope and pray the next one has something better, however i already checked and all my 3 surrounding ISP’s essentially offer the same package, or price gouge.
We really need just one mode that is an “Open Q” where anything happens and the match simply goes on.
If people drop in and out of the matches regardless of what happens. That should be it. No punishments, nothing.
If they want to add in ONE thing it should be Participation rating match making so those that are pressing “leave” constantly have a lower number than those that seldom press it or disconnect from the match.
With something along the lines of a message that reads:
“based upon your playing will impact your Q time”.
