So, honestly, as a support player I don’t know what they changed this season, but it doesn’t feel satisfying to heal at all anymore. I could be playing lifeweaver, focusing on throwing my healing balls at one teammate and he just dies. It’s just depressing (and before I could ping pong my balls between teammates and keep them all alive). Does it take a few seconds for the heal to kick in? Is the healing so low that it doesn’t even show on the health bar? In short it feels as focusing on healing doesn’t have any meaningful impact as your teammates die left and right anyway, and you could have possibly helped them more by bursting the enemies down with extra dps…
At least when I play support DPS I get all these satisfying ‘ping ping ping’ hitmarkers for crits, doing tons of damage and feel as if I’m doing something. Too bad for salty teammates that they don’t get heals when the developers made healing suck.
Also it sucks to be a support and get constantly flanked (and killed, having to walk back from spawn) by sombra, tracer, genji or even a mcree that seems to shoot projectiles the size of cannonballs this season and never misses a shot.
I started the season doing support role queue and went from high plat to low gold (almost silver) and thought I simply got super bad. Then I went to ranked open queue, dps and tank queue to do my placements and guess what I’m still high plat in those. So to me it’s just the support role that is completely out of whack and sucks to play these days (or at least the healing part of it).
