Supports are too powerful in OW2

This was in alpha. There was a passive debuff where enemies taking damage received 30% less healing. Dev said this wasn’t going to be the final solution and they were exploring other healing nerfs instead, but they cancelled that plan due to alpha feedback. Last time they discussed this was in a stream with Goodman and Noh, and they still felt at the time that healing may be too strong.

There were some other factors why healing didn’t feel overtuned during alpha though. For one, Tracer had not only her OW1 damage but also her falloff bug (now confirmed to have been in alpha). Strongest version of Tracer in history. Zarya is said to have had 600 hp and was likely living forever and melting everything. Genji and Sombra hadn’t been nerfed. Sojourn was the strongest version of herself ever pushed. And matchmaking was supposedly putting GM creators against casual scrubs. Not the best data but there’s only so much you can do in alpha I guess.

Its because of the dumb mega 1 tank in 5v5 its not the supports. The 1 tank role has ruined this game they are the best dps and out heal healers in Roadhog’s case. There are no off tanks anymore. And it sucks. Plus alot of the dbl tank combos are gone such as rein setting up dva bombs or zarya setting up doomfist

It’s not a matter of making Supports invincible - we just want to be able to defend ourselves a bit.

Healing is crucial but that doesn’t mean people are going to be excited enough to queue up just to be targetted and bullied.

Supports shouldn’t be helpless.

although i do think healing numbers are a little too high , the goal of this game is to survive and push cart/capture a point , it will always be like that

All supports are actually decent but Brig though. It’s just pain

I think this is where we’ll never get supports to work 100%. Key problem for everyone. Supports prevent death. Key problem for supports. They get sick and tired of being flanked and killed. The moment their cooldown’s are used. Or can’t do their dual jobs. I don’t see how you can fix both at the same time.

If it’s a set of ratios, then theoretically we should be able to reduce their ability to prevent death in exchange for increasing their ability to live.

I see you have good points.

But let me translate.

Increase PEW PEW. More PEW PEW better game. PEW PEW Should KILL Tank. MORE PEw PEW on support, less non-PEW PEW for support.

I like posts like this - keep stirring the pot - make the Devs go crazy!

They won’t know - what is right - what is wrong - what is up or what is down anymore soon.

We got them! Keep the pressure up!

Yep. Its 100% skill issue and learning to adapt.

Game is faster and less forgiving and passive support playstyle is not allowed anymore.
Now they have to step up and switch to counter (because god forbid supports have to do that, right?).
Its also really weird that Silver/Bronze players act like Silver/Bronze DPS are Terminator/Robocop machines that never miss and everytime they get near them they insta die.

Best thing is Anas healing has been increased back up yet again

She got more ammo during one of the betas. And now they’ve put her healing back up to 75 and put nade back to 4 seconds (which helps with her burst healing). Hope they consider reverting this tbh.

But anyway, healing is really strong in this game. I’m all for Support changes - they need to happen to make the role more fun/appealing, but the one thing the role doesn’t need is more healing. At all.
