Supports are overpowered

Yeah, I’m saying you can choose between Equal Popularity or Equal Impact, not both.

And the idea that you’re saying “LOL WELL I WANT BOTH” is not really showing you know much about this subject.

omg where is that coming from ? Your ego is huge I guess. Or you just don’t know people.

They are unpopular. Support is the shortest queue time, less than tank who is only one player. And the more players yell at support players, the less you will have support players. When a player plays bad, he doesn’t apologize but : support fault, they don’t heal me. If the team losses : press tab, let’s flame the support who has less heal score. And so on, many examples.

Casual gamers are in bronze, so what’s the problem if you play competitive ? If you’re plat you won’t see them. And clearly you hate them, but I’m quite sure they don’t hate you (before you talk at least because what you say is hateful).

it absolutely does not. you cannot go play around in the practice range and think that’s anywhere a plausible metric for anything. you can make literally every hero in this game look OP in the practice range, bc the practice range is just meant for you to see how abilities function at a barebone level.

it is not an appropriate “baseline” for the real game. that would be something like what the PTR used to be or even quickplay.

so what do you do in the event where no one picks support anymore and queue times are like 10+ mins?

The alternative is losing most of their audience and dying. The bulk of the player base is casual, and the amount of money they bring in swamps the people at the top.

What is your business model for it to be different?

You are not wrong that it is focusing on casual players, but I think that is the right thing to do, because without them we don’t have a game.

Look at ow1 and priority pass.

Trying to make the game less competitive, and gutting every heroes that require a high mastery, while keeping heroes that anyone can just hop on and play just as good as the next guy - whom already have high hours on said hero? Yeah, game will die even faster.

If ow2 wants to go down that route, they need to remove the competitive scene altogether, since rank is now meaningless.

They are not doing that… they are however fixing low ranked play so there isn’t obviously “best” dps to play.

That is it, and the Genji players cry about it, but he is still doing ok in high ranks. Top500 still has a lot of Genji players in it.

The move to 5v5 and the drop in stuns in the game made flankers VERY strong, so they had to fix it, in part making supports stronger, in part making flankers slightly weaker.

Outside of that change which absolutely had to happen, what are the changes you are annoyed at?

the largest amount of players in ow is actually dps players. The game is advertised as a competitive shooter game.

They make up the largest pool, but that just means they have to wait longer for games.

The game is set up so you need the same amount of support players as DPS players.

The drop to stun is a buff to every heroes that can be affect by stun. Tanks, supports, dps, everyone, stun is more powerful to low mobility heroes than high mobility one. Don’t pretend it only affect flankers.

It ABSOLUTELY effected flankers more than it did to other characters.

A stunned flanker is going to get hit a lot more and a LOT harder than an unstunned one, since they rely on mobility not to be hit.

The taking away their mobility effects them more, since they have more to take away from.

It is also why there is easy to hit beam weapons with Moira, because again, mobility is crazy strong.

The queue times for support players is not even that short.
It is a complete myth made up by the people on this forum, wanting their role to remained op and powerful.
Ask everyone around you and they’ll say all roles are actually balance in q times, at least for the majority of ranks.

How so? A stun widowmaker = dead, stun ashe = dead, stun mercy = dead, stun genji = dead, stun tracer = dead.
Same results.

It cannot be any harder than being dead and walking back from spawn.

New player are you? We have seen the amount they were different in OW1, it got SO bad they had to drop a tank player.

In the betas, everyone was waiting for supports for games, it was crazy how bad the queue times were.

What you are seeing is AFTER They have made the changes which you are complaining about getting the supports to a stage where they are picked closer to the amount of DPS.

Right, but some of these are hard to hit when they are not stunned, and others? no so much. Mercy is a mobility hero, you EXPECT stuns to be good on her. They were designed to be good vs her.

Fast moving heroes with small hitboxes are harder to hit. When you stop them, they become MUCH easier.

Stopping other heroes? not so much since they were not hard to hit to begin with.

I’m an ow1 player, I even mentioned the priority pass. The q is long because tank is in shortage, not support.

Why is it that when I heard about genji and tracer being nerf in ow1, people said stun doesn’t counter them. Going into ow2, people NOW said stun counter them (after stun is long gone?), please be consistent with your story.

So it’s primarily a Class Based Shooter, but you want 60% of the players on a team to play it like it’s a MOBA, with either horrible matchmaking speed or horrible matchmaking quality, and probably lose 30% of the players.

All so that 1-3% of players can be slightly happier about a balancing mechanic that hasn’t been important for 4 years, and even then it was impotent at blocking GOATs?

And of course Blizzard gets to make about 30% less profit, which I’m sure their Finance department at ActiBliz Corporate would be thrilled about.

I’ve always been consistent here.

Go back and show me where I have ever written that stuns is bad against small hitbox mobility heroes.

Then you didn’t learn the lesson from OW1, queue times get out of control unless you actually balance for them.

Blizzard could see how bad it was in the Beta. They have been trying to balance for it ever since, and currently they are getting it right, which you are complaining about.

I don’t want it, whoever main characters that resemble moba heroes, they want it.

With the release of supports like Ana, Kiriko, and heroes like Zen, some dps player will gravitate toward those heroes. We just need more supports like that to make support q time better, not making them overpower that supports have to play like dead by daylight, being chased 24/7, then go on forum to complain about it.

What and lose the bulk of the support players?

That won’t work for you, you need both. Which is why the next hero (or two) are not your classic DPS ones.

You have your Kiriko, and now you have something more classical support coming.

Blizzard isn’t dumb, they know they need the classic support players as well.

AND you will complain about those too.

I’m a Sombra / Mei player, and I know how much we need the support players to queue if I am to get games reasonably quickly.
