Strong usually has “if you are multitasking” condition. And it’s really NOT a fun thing to do.
Even just 1 new hero would go a long way. I can’t wait for the Fox support, it’s been what, 3 1/2 years since a new support?
While I understand what you’re trying to say I don’t think that’s a great analogy to use, that Tanks are strong but not enjoyable to play in OW1. You playing a tank in OW1 really isn’t all that strong individually, it’s your synergy with your 2nd tank that makes the tank role strong in OW1.
Honestly, I think this is why many people find the tank role the least fun. You don’t really feel all that strong individually, as a tank. It isn’t until you combine with your 2nd tank that you start to feel particularly powerful as one of the heavy hitters of the team.
Forum is just a bunch of console support healbots whining as per usual
All I can say is: if Blizzard doesn’t figure out why people don’t want to play Supports in OW2, plan for 20 minute queues for both tank and damage when things go live. Either that, or mandatory support queues.
Won’t bother me. Will be one of the few playing support with a 5 stack, where support play becomes much better.
one word. moira.
her new ability literally prevents the enemy from fighting. which sounds like free kills until you realise that sustain still exists.
it either prevents a push or allows you 4 seconds of uncontested positioning.
And now moira has the enfeebling orb which shuts down brawlers rush hard lol
this assumes the new hero is good and or fun to play. they havent shown anything but they have mentioned making more supports like mercy. what that means is vague at best but if it means less mechanical requirements then I dont think it will be too well received.
Because while you can turn tank into almost 100% DPS, it doesn’t work that way with supports - you still need to buff/heal your team.
From my perspective, supports in the beta are what tanks are on live.
They are impactful and the backbone of a lot of fights, but often end up being the most-targeted and most-killed role. I feel like a healbot most of the time, making things nearly impossible to die, but don’t have a lot in my kit to keep myself alive against the burst and flanks (and thanks to Sojourn, that is Hell currently until she’s toned down).
I’m willing to sacrifice some of the overall power if they can just make the role more fun.
You can always pick Mercy to have completely opposite experience ![]()
The Lucio players will be doing just fine (at least those that can be aggressive when required)
With the new GA change, I can say they’ve actually made her less fun lol.
I tried to settle in with this change, but I really hope they continue to iterate off of the first iteration they had (crouch would do the Super Jump for you).
This current one is…oof.
I mean, that you would have a lot of mobility to be last survivor, but your ability to keep team alive will take deep dive.
I haven’t had too much difficulty with her. I can keep my team alive, though not as strong as Baptiste or Ana (but I also think those heroes need to be toned down/rebalanced a bit).
That’s just my own experience, though.
Why wouldn’t they be? There aren’t too many heroes that you can objectively say are bad/boring
I know we’ve disagreed on some things in the past, but I am 100% with you on this take. It’s spot-on.
Great! Now we have a “Supports are OP” narrative but support players dont like it. Perfect! Thank you blizz for killing support!
This is the clarity we need.
People can blame support mains for being “bad” or “entitled” or whatever all day long if they want to. I’m used to it. Still doesn’t solve the impending queue time bottleneck if Blizzard can’t attract players to the role.
And lord knows that whatever Blizzard has been doing lately has both pushed away the previous support player base whilst failing to entice any of these so-called “skilled” DPS players to queue support. To me that says that skill isn’t really the issue here, but even if it is, it doesn’t matter.
I clearly missed something… What oopsie? Please tell me, I am dreadfully curious.
