A lot of that was brought to you by people who main 222 in some 1% bracket and have literally no playtime in OPEN, or any clue how to play OPEN outside of goats. OPEN is what you want to compare things to, because in ranks for the masses, we often have stuff like 141 or 132, and everyone learns to exact solo/duo agency, winning duels and degen fights, using map heals, etc.
So we’re used to much less reliance, less value derived from this “I frontline and you healbot” mentality.
A C9 is when a team either wins a teamfight, or at least swings the momentum strongly into their favour to where they are extremely likely to win the teamfight but they tunnel vision and they forget about the point and lose the round as a result.
im not keen on 5v5 but i figured it would ease splitting the job for supports. Moira being my support main, i tend to help the main support itself and the dps they are too busy to handle even on live.
Geoff mentioned they’re going for different game flow. Less regroup, less hold choke or reset to the next 1% of the map. Less holding for clump for all-ins + ults = teamwipes. Lather rinse repeat. Less of that boring script that has positioned OW1 too far away from hybrid shooter expectations.
He mentioned they’re moving away from that. More map cover, more map features to live off the land. The flow looks more like a moving tdm/arena, which implies more emphasis on micro-mechanics and local agency. With less emphasis on fixed team comps, fixed or static tank+pocket structure, and longterm macro/econ.
been a flex player for 4+ years. i can play every tank and other non-tank heroes as tanks when needed. learning hog/ball is essential to any sane tank player
oh and i most certainly won’t being enjoying solo tank unless they somehow reworked them to be OP
True, but they did say 2cp is gone and/or getting reworked.
About the gameflow changes - are you referring to the official stream that unveiled 5v5, or the behind closed doors “make fun of normies discord” AMA we only have bits and pieces of. Near the beginning official stream, Aaron and Geoff sort of introduced their design rationale for 5v5, and would continue to allude to this more dynamic gameflow as they parsed us through the maps.
since i play support a lot i am wondering what healing will be like say with mercy or ana. with one less tank to target you think it would sound easier but we all have to remember that it means that one tank hero will be receiving tons of damage. wonder if the tank can be pocketed by one healer?
As I detailed in my post, it is more specifically about momentum. Simply forgetting about the point amidst the chaos of a full teamfight isn’t a C9.
Regardless, even your own supplied definition has nothing to do with the DPS running off. By function of Overwatch, it has to be the whole team, because if everyone else on your team is on the point then OT won’t tick down
I’ve seen enough C9 to know what it is, I’ve played both sides of it; to lose with it when the team I played with did it, or to win with it when the other team did it. And when C9 happens it only takes one team player to pull off the win. Because again I’ve seen it done to me and I’ve done it myself.
Either way it’s rare.
But whether it will happen a lot in OW2, I’m thinking even perhaps less, especially with the push pull bot maps.
Well, most players scream “C9” any time there is someone alive that doesn’t contest point and your definition was ropey at best, but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and take your word for it.

Give me your love my baby
Give me kisses honey
I deserve the best you know it
Give me love and money
I have the rest already
Love and money coming from you
Is what I need

Edit: I saw your comment and my mind snapped to this old song from initial D lol
