Support queue times is crazy

That is interesting. Maybe its related to Perks and how they add more dynamic aspects to the game? Are DPS heroes too “simple” now?

I will say that Soldier: 76 On Me Perk in Stadium feels really nice! Mobile healing as Soldier feels so right :ok_hand::ok_hand:

The problem I see with DPS is that raw killing is so powerful that they can exist purely through that premise alone and any other option not as powerful tends to not get played as frequently or out powered.

Symmetra has proven to be rather powerful in the past for all sorts of team play, but its a very niche thing that one doesn’t’ appeal to many DPS players and is a unique kit that even regular teammates aren’t’ used to playing around since Sym is so rare.

However, if killing power is too high its miserable to play against and everyone hates it. Widowmaker, Tracer, and Sojourn dominance are common things players are tired of seeing. Tracer less so since usually she doesn’t’ pop up unless nothing else is powerful.

An easier way of balancing the power for DPS in my opinion is give them more effects which dont’ necessarily allow them to purely abuse for their own gain, but indirectly buff the allies around them. Things like Sym’s turret applying slow or wall hacks is great to not directly power up Sym to insane levels, but give the hero more power through indirect means.

Indirect benefits to a team are literally how tank/supports to me are so valuable. DPS getting the anti-heal is a great boon to making ALL DPS more useful, but its still not quite targetted enough to more DPS heroes.

All DPS heroes ahve existed since pretty much the start of OW.

Personnaly,i’d rather not play than play support… ^^

imho support is just subjectively easier, all dps has is slightly more power if you aim well.
even then heroes like kiri don’t do low dmg either.

Doesn’t help that the only way to successfully kill someone is by using burst damage hitscans,
Projectiles outside of Freja is dead
Consistent DpS is dead
Ofc people will stop playing dps :rofl::rofl:
The busted immos and healing have denied 70% of the dps cast leaving 30% playable

The most powerful yet the most relaxed role without responsibility at the same time. The devs gave them everything from healing to dpsing but they don’t need to use their power to win because it is hard to notice what they do and their low skill floor and high value floor often incorporates good stats regardless they played well or not. All the blame usually goes to the single tank or low kill dps.

Success does not happen in QP either … Its all Stomp Stomp Stomp…

The only think that is fun and you get xp as well is Practice vs AI

Ah I still remember the “clever dudes” here crying about Support “playing respawn simulator” and claiming the queues would sky rocket to everyone else because no one would play it

… yeah never believed it for a second.

My god the value return per skill invested always was higher but nowadays is off the charts.

I honestly believe they all have deluded themselves and still consider support to be the weakest role :unamused: doesn’t help Devs are overwhelmingly support players

Seems like that if you look at q times. I prefer tank but after that its support easily. You can click heads and get kills so you have the same play making potential as dps in that regard. And you can save allies, which is also impactful.

If you’re on dps and see your ally make a mistake that will get them killed your options are very limited. You can kill the enemy before they kill your ally but if you can’t because of angle/ttk etc you can’t do anything unless you’re mei, genji and a few others.

Meanwhile support can see an ally walk straight into a junk trap, shatter or grav and save them with immortality, burst heals, sleep, big ults etc. And they get ult charge from healing so not only do they have better ults, they also get to click on them more often.

In open q, triple support is meta anyway. Supports are just a bit stronger than dps in a lot of situations.

I am having fun playing DPS Zen + 2 other supports (in 6v6) but haven’t encountered long queue time.

You mean being catered to by the devs in every way and being able to do everything and carry?

I wonder why.

Very weird indeed.

In EU, QP is like 2-3 min for Tank and DPS roles and 4 min for support.

Not sure if it’s due to the Stadium honeymoon phase (and lootboxes to collect for 15 games played) or simply yet another active players drop.

How’s NA doing ?

No, I mean in the way I explained. We’re a hero-based FPS that doesn’t revolve around guns. Guns and homogeneous classes are boring, and OW does well with not leaning on those things.

I like support because you have to do your job while being public enemy #1 and quickly oscillating between supporting your team and murdering the other one. It’s a rush.

The devs don’t “cater to” any role, and I will carry on any role. Not sure what you’re on about.

I play support mostly, because when I play other roles I could not get support …

I’m also a support main and I agree.

I like 6v6 better, but hate when I’m forced to flex to Tank or DPS, because 6v6 is open queue.

I can feel your pain. I just cannot turst other supports and I go picking up them health packs instead. Maybe its beacuse I am still low rank in Tank or DPS.

This is what is ruining match quality. Because now all the dps players are queueing support and dpsing with them because they think as you do. They are really bad at saving lives and real support mains like myself have to carry them. It’s exhausting.

I just wish Blizz would fix tanks so that dps players would want to play them more and to keep them out of the support queue.

odd how support wasnt a very popular role, until they turned them into DPS characters.
