Why is she in every game then? The only thing that is delusional, is thinking people play her to show off a skin, or because she’s ‘fun’ in a competitive game. People play her in competitive because she is a viable hero, period.
There is very much a reality to a popular hero being fun to play and simply having an exceedingly high pick rate. Its why pick rate has generally not been a massive balancing factor for most tiers.
The only time you really care about pick rate is if something really stupid is happening such as 50% of players are picking a hero or something. Which tends to go hand in hand with exceedingly busted status which you usually only see at high ends of play since this is where character output matters the most.
A person play X hero suboptimally at lower tiers is generally not a great amount of concern. Unless a hero is having exceptional out of characteristic performance at X tier of play.
No one ever suggests pick rate should be used alone to balance, but it is still an important factor to consider.
But having a very high pickrate, along with a winrate above 50% means that hero is viable, there is simply no question to it.
The lucio nerf was very important. A lot of tanks love to misplay by going out of position and putting themselves in danger, and they should not be be punished for it. They should be rewarded with free kills and wins instead.
And Lucio is still playing at all level : Contenders, Rank in GM, metal rank etc…
He can played with majority of supports (except Mercy), so I’m not surprised if Lucio is nerfed

Yes, it frustrates me how often I have to use jump to get to my tank to beam him, especially as being mid-air makes me so much easier to hit.

zen can only heal 1 person at a time, pylon can heal an entire team, allowing illari to set it and forget it while she goes full dps
tbh more supports nerfs = more fun for other roles
but yeah lucio and iliari werent what comes to mind when you think about “nerfing supports”
and it takes 1 bullet or 2 to negate her entiere healing for 14seconds
in a game with so many flankers/ aoe abilities…its not that hard to do
High rank players know the most broken pylon spots where you’re not breaking that thing in a fight without dying
cool, high rank players are a minority, couldnt care less about what they do, they can manage to kill it anyways

Rebalancing Illari to have more healing in her gun and putting pylon on a timer is more fun for everyone involved

so, a flanker is going to make is way around another route to gain access to her pylon…now he has a choice to make…either of those choices will result in death…he can try to take out a support…or a dps, but that will immediately alert them to his position in which they will all turn and fire on him and he’s dead.

What about pylon persisting permanently but its healing on a resource meter, and Illari have to go back and use her beam to recharge its healing resource once in a while? Kinda also makes lore sense too since her weapon is solar, but I don’t recall her pylon also being solar.
