(STY) Sym NEEDS a FULL REWORK! OW2's WORST Hero!

“Blizzard have nerfed Symmetra in Overwatch 2’s latest beta. Symmetra lacks a hero identity. Other heroes are better at close range, other heroes are better at long range… Sym needs to focus her kit, rather than trying to be a jack of all trades. Symmetra needs a full rework, but will Blizzard rework her for the 3rd time?”

Honestly these changes are so weak, it’s actually making more depressed every hour I play.

I have tried Sym in 3 matches and will probably not touch her again for the rest of the beta… she feels terrible and there is not a single situation where I would pick her over my other DPS characters, even though my DPS pool is already limited

Honestly, if you are that unhappy with this beta changes, and they are definitely bad, stop playing Symmetra altogether. If no one is playing her at all it sends a clear message that something is wrong.

I think I got about 10-15 matches two days ago.

But been too depressed to return. (Been focusing elsewhere)

Guess its time for a tank rework.

Lol. If you think Blizzard gives a damn about Sym’s pickrate, you must have not paid attention over the last 6 years.
The only time they cared about her pickrate was when she became an almost meta pick during double shield, which prompted a nerf hammer to bludgeon her.

It wont. Sym’s pickrate has always been abysmal. Feedback was always in the most underpowered/worst hero of the game. And even so Blizzard did what they did.

Its a big enigma to know how they do their number balance changes but know that whatever their methods are, its always to completely ignore the playerbase’s feedback.

I got over the Mei changes from Beta 1, still love playing her, but Sym with her new changes? nah thanks, I’m good.

Your right, for Sym to get where she currently is.

Blizzard Devs don’t give a damn.

We literally warned them about all this.

And ignored.

he’s right about the aesthetic visual effect. its very pretty and cool. hopefully they can keep that and make her better

oh definitely. The art team knocked it out of the park.
Then the balancing team brought Sym back into the park, beat her up behind the dumpster and put her 6 feet under.

It’s such a shame too. As mentioned by Sty, it’s crazy that Sym, a hero based on such a unique thing as hard light, which could essentially give her any role, any rework, any ability you could think of, is handled so appallingly when it comes to balancing.

400 HP (200/200), 15m beam, larger AOE and no wind-up time on secondary fire (plus splash damage), deployable barriers that charge her primary when they absorb damage. Wait…

I mapped out 3 routes they could have taken Sym.

And the 5th route (aka the most hateful one involved nerfs) was taken.

(4th was nothing.)

Wow. I didn’t know I would actually find myself agreeing with Stylosa.

Exactly the same for me. I played her for the entirety of the last beta and had a lot of fun, despite her being considered one of the worst. But the current Sym is so bad it just isn’t fun to play. It’s a big shame because I like Overwatch 2 but this has ruined the beta for me

a 90 dmg projectile that can’t headshot is just terrible. Like, I don’t know what they were thinking. Like, yeah, her old alternate fire wasn’t good at long range… but Sym isn’t a long range hero.
Her alternate fire was used close up to do big impact damage. You can’t do that anymore now. Instead you get a 90 damage ball… what will that achieve exactly?
You can’t hit it reliable enough to kill supports since you need to hit 3 in a row thanks to the support passive. Sure, you have splash damage… but what are you meant to do with splash damage of a 90 damage explosion?..

Now deciding what to do with the beta.

I could hope for an update between now and July 5.

Or just ignore it all.

Honestly on Vacation… and this is ruining it.

I might drop the beta.

probably for the best.
I have enough other heroes to play, as I mainly play support anyway and still have Mei left… but Sym? just so disappointing

We will likely see more people upset if we get pass July 5 with nothing anyway.

But Devs must already know.

My issue is… If we get balance changes to Sym this beta, that likely means that there isn’t anything major happening with her. She doesn’t need some small number tweaks like her orbs doing 100 damage now, she needs so much help.

This is why I wasn’t complaining about Sym last beta. Sure, it was annoying that she didn#t get any changes. But I seriously was naive enough to think “oh, that must mean, something big is coming for her”.
I mean, I guess I wasn’t wrong, even though I wish I was now…

Rather than them just buffing her, I really wish we will see a blue post acknoledging the issue with Sym and saying that she will go back to the drawing board for some big changes to happen for the next beta (if there is another one) or for october release
