Stuck at Overwatch Entering Game page & high latency

Hi there. Please assist me. After the christmas update, I’m unable to enter overwatch many times. I’m always stuck in the entering game with the huge overwatch logo sign & very rarely I’m able to enter in. When I do enter in, my latency becomes very high when my internet is doing fine, if not how do I still continue using discord/internet etc. youtube, facebook etc.

I also get disconnected from games after the update alot and when I get in a group with my friends, there is always a delay for me choosing a role in qp or if not I can’t join a game and get kicked out when trying to join a game.

Now, worse is my battlenet can’t detect my friends list and it’s empty. Please help, I’ve tried uninstalling ow, scanning & repairing, flushing dns etc. but it’s still the same problem.

The entering game page has been taking a lot longer lately, as well as the career profile loading times.

According to your looking glass test, there is some data loss closer to your end of the connection around your ISP’s network hubs. This might be the problem, but it could be something else as well. To get a more certain idea, you may need to run a WinMTR test.

WinMTR instructions:

  1. Download WinMTR from Download WinMTR from SourceForge.net
  2. Unzip the WinMTR.zip file to the Desktop.
  3. Open the WinMTR folder and select the 32 or 64 bit version. Choose whichever one corresponds to your version of Windows.
  4. Run the WinMTR.exe
  5. Type the IP address you want to trace in the “Host” field. To get the correct IP you will actually need to open up the game and go Practice Vs AI or Quick Play and if you are on PC hit Ctrl+Shift+N and it will bring up the ingame network diagnostic graph. In the top left corner is the IP address you want to run WinMTR to.

    note When looking at the IP it will show up ingame as something like 12.34.56.78:12345. You will want to leave the last 5 digits and the colon at the end off and the IP you want to use is just the 12.34.56.78
  6. Once you notice the connection issue while playing, play for about 6 more minutes, minimize the game and click on “Stop”.
  7. Click on “Copy text to clipboard”, then return to this forum thread.
  8. Type two sets of four squiggly lines and then paste the contents of the WinMTR test between: ~~~~ Paste WinMTR Test Results Here ~~~~

If in the event you can’t even connect to Overwatch and get into any game mode at all, please use one of the following IP addresses based on your geographical region:

  • US West - 24.105.30.129
  • US Central - 24.105.62.129

  • Europe France - 185.60.112.157

Hey there,

Given the registered location you are playing, from this may be part of a larger issue in the region as we have seen multiple reports from specific ISPs in Singapore and surrounding areas. It is likely the issue is related to undersea cable issues causing slowdowns and stability issues with the connection. This may affect different services in different ways or if you are lucky, not at all. We do have a consolidated thread you are welcome to join and add to. We have been able to confirm issues at the ISP or backbone level for most of these so if you want confirmation you can provide the previously requested WinMTR.

Hi all, my issue seems to be solved already. I’ve contact my ISP (starhub) yesterday, it was a long session. Today I tried testing the game again and it seems I’m able to enter the game at lightning speed and there is no delay/lag when coming into any games or picking a role for qp. Battlenet is also able to load quickly already. They must have solved the issue on their end with the network department.

*UPDATE 4/1/21 10.19PM: Hi all once again, I have a friend and another player whom I’ve not met has confirmed that they can enter the game and into the menus like lightning speed too. You guys can try quickly so as to get your winter skins lol… :wink:

The issue must have been solved already for those having starhub as their ISP.

Hi there again, due to the new patch that happened on 6/1/22, the issue that caused the entering game to be stuck is happening again. I would like to enquire who else using starhub ISP (Singapore) is getting stuck? If you are, do leave a comment here so then I know and I can try contacting starhub again. Thank you.

I cant enter game as well. Saying my account info cant be verified. Everything else on my comp is working fine.

I managed to call starhub at 2/3am+ and told them the issue. They told me that they were gonna escalate the issue and it seems like it has been solved upon me entering the game at 3.56pm today.

I also told them that it’s gonna be weird if every single update this issue happens and I have to call starhub and explain to them the same issue again. Thus, the customer agent did tell me that he will include in his email regarding that issue too, so let’s see how it goes for the next update for overwatch.

For now, just enjoy the game since they seem to have solved the issue for this update. :grin:
