Struggling to pick a main for DPS

Wondering if I could get some input on this? I wanna try comp and want a hero I can do good on.
For DPS it’s between Symm, Torb, Venture, and Ashe.

Symm: I tend to have my highest and lowest moments on her, I’ll either top score a lobby or be decimated.
Torb: I’m consistently decent with him, I have about 48% accuracy on him which is “eh”. He was also my most played in OW1.
Venture: This character is fun to me, like Genji but more my style, high movement, cool abilities, and I like the characters designs too, however I’m not exactly great at them yet.
Ashe: I understand positioning, abilities, and how to make the most of her kit, however I usually have about 25-30% weapon accuracy on her.

I plan to practice all of them but I wanted reccomendations on which to pursue first.

Symm requires more team coordination, while Torbjorn is more about controlling spaces and chokepoints

Ashe is way more dynamic, but Venture can cause a lot of damage if you time it right

Overall, this is key

Consider the playstyle for each, as from the farthest to the closest you are from the enemy

They all depend on the enemy composition too.
But I would try all of this in QuickPlay first. See how you respond to different enemies with each character

If you are going to pick 2 characters as Mains, see that they act as their own counters

Like Ashe-Venture for example

With Venture you can Flank and Spam for controlling short distances, and if you had to pick a counter, that would be Ashe/Cassidy

Same concept applies if a Pharah shows up. Ashe, Cassidy, Soldier will be great swaps on that situation

That would be, Torb, Ashe, Symm, Venture

I used to enjoy Mei tbh, but it feels like her right click is her only useful fire now. I miss when she was a cool assassin that could freeze enemies and finish them off with a well placed icicle.

The left click still pierces and now does 100dps.

Just aim for things through the d.va or hog and you will do fine, that and well old primary freeze was the most telegraphed and easily countered tool in the game. I’m glad it’s gone.

If you want to play comp and rise the ranks then ashe is your best bet. Consistency, powerful ult, good range and good close range allows ashe to be good at all ranges. Ashe is easy mode if you really want to play and get lots of wins. Venture is tougher, the second you face a pharah or anyone with lots of range, you are at a disadvantage. Sym and hanzo are currently the worst dps in the game, I highly recommend you don’t bother with sym until she gets a viable buff. Unless you are already a dedicated sym player with lots of experience, anyone starting to try her out is going to have a rude awakening.
