You couldn’t bake a cake in half the time my magmawave oven can!

I mean half the content on the forums is either bait, disingenuous or made out of emotional discourse people don’t or can’t manage and then use the forums as their personal diary, so…

And why donyou think that? Do emotions not count?

I agree half of them can get filtered but its neither our job.

Plus even if its discourse its inviting a conversation and ideas. That id how we improve.

I think emotions are important but I think acting off of them without reason or critical thought is not good.

Stop equating real life sports to random matchmaking in OW. It does not work at all and I’m not explaining it for the 100th time.

All roles are “thankless”, supports are absolutely no different in this regard to damage or tank. Supports are not special. Regardless, why are you ignoring the most important part regarding the deliberate lack of thanks to specific individuals? Were you having trouble understanding how doing this is more toxic than good game, even with the sport comparison?

They count but we have to be aware how the skew what people think. Look at LW there are people who experiece a few bad pulls and that clouds there judjement so when they make a post they say “every pull is bad”.

This happens with every post with emotions, no one is immune to it. So we have to take what they say with a grain of salt.

Why cant we? One is a physicall game while the other is a digital game?

GG orginated from IRL sports, its a sign of respect. While it didnt translate perfectly over its still has many core aspects that are the same.

People who seperate IRL games and digital games, IMO hurt the community more. Your logic is becuase its digital there shouldnt be this form of respect.

Actually think about it for more than 5 seconds. You can do it. I believe in you.

It’s not. For a handshake, you need a receiver. More often than not, there isn’t any in OW. Encouraging all these ‘ggs’ that come the second before or after the ‘Defeat’ screen isn’t a way.

At this point, it’s white noise, not some kind of courtesy.

regarding GG meaning “get good” ( i know it was only mentioned a few times in this thread but…)

Since GG predominantly means good game, generally speaking if people want to say “get good” they will type it out.

one of the few times i consider GG toxic, is when someone gives up early and types gg in chat before the game is even over.

Indeed.

It’s also why eSports find it hard to gain traction in wider cultural sporting spheres when even things like Poker have broken through.

You proved my point, becuase you seperated the 2 you have removed all hummanity and respect from it.

Just becuase it digital doesnt mean that they dont deserve respect. Your responce is proof that you dont care that its another human.

Totally missed the point.

This is so telling, isn’t it?

then what is your point?

My point is that we are all humans and deserve basic respect, in in games IRL or virtual GG is the most simple form of respect you can give.

It is way worse to have to shake someone’s hand after a bad game than read gg in chat, especially since I could leave the game or the chat immediately. Honestly those who are seriously triggered by gg need to disable match chat, because there is way worse out there.

It’s not about being triggered, but pointing out tone-deaf pattern.

Lol no

I’m doing it because it’s the sportsmanship like thing to do.

My grade school soccer teams were rightful trash in our league, but even we high fived and accepted our loss with a “good game” after every match.
