I don’t mind leavers. I suspect in most cases people leave when they decide the match is lost for them. And oddly enough my experience is once they get replaced the tides turn.
I even try to convince my team in those rare cases my team is stomping the enemy, to give them some hope or they leave and get replaced by better players.
However I absolutely hate to be put in place of a leaver at the very end of a match, when I don’t even get to select my hero before I get the Defeat screen and then I’m presented with POTG I wasn’t even in. No I don’t care, stop wasting my time.
I leave games when i solo, i also generate karma leave points when i play with friends if people gonna play dumb or pick doomfist i wont stick around, why play a losing game when they’re idiots on my team throwing.
Neither does comp. It doesn’t matter. It’s just a game bro. Even the top500 players. Unless its your job like the OWL players and your performance dictates if you are going to be employed next season or not, it doesn’t matter at all. My comp stats are not even in my career profile anymore other than playtime
QP is just that. QUICK GAMES. 10-15 minutes. Why do they have role queue? Why do they not allow stacking in the none role queue version? And playing down 1-2 people isn’t fun in a game that is literally team based. Again this isn’t CS:GO open lobby. Jesus you have to be so dense
“It’s quickplay” is the justification they will always give you.
Well, let’s all stand still and do nothing, it’s just quickplay.

I get what both sides are saying about leaving.
For me the solution is to have a mode that isn’t comp (as many players have no desire for that mode/environment), which has a penalty for leaving matches. And a mode where people can come and go as they please with no penalty.
Make the leaver mode a never ending skirmish…maybe one where you can pick any map you want to play…where it just constantly resets after each win state (push the bot to the end, take the point, drive the cart home, etc.)
Then people can drop in whenever they like, play that map as long as they like to work on placement/mechanics, etc., and leave whenever. Wins wouldn’t matter or even register, dropping in at the end of cycle would matter, because it would reset (the scoreboard included). So come and go as you please.
And then have a comp-lite mode, where you are in there to finish the map, but are not forced to play both defense and attack…and have a leaver penalty for those that bail too often and to excess.
Then everyone get’s something they want.
Winning in QP means nothing, i agree i find it dumb there is RQ in QP, the mode just for practice and fun, thats it not mrant to be taken serious at all
Blizzard failed to make a good matchmaker, so frustrated players leave when others play like trash.

It is QP jesus who cares about matchmaking, now in comp i can understand, but it is in the name QP meant to create a game as quick as possible
Have you seen the battlepass? I’m sure a lot of people are shiver in their boots when blue ball entertainment hits them with the “XP REDUCTION.”
People who want a balanced match without the pressure of having to deal with competitive. And people who do not care about that are the ones who ruin Quickplay, because no effort is done to play like a team.

This conversation is never going to get a resolution, leavers are going to leave and you cant do anything about it. Blizz has proved yet again that they DO NOT CARE.
The only way you will not have as many leavers is as follows (opinion)
Matchmaking : There has to be some sort of stricter matchmaking in QP, right now it is just find me a match, I don’t care if the game is decided even before the loading screen. Lets be honest, Blizz does not know how to fix this, no matter what they do it just gets worse. 25 million players or whatever and I was running into the same people back to back in multiple games in the same day.
Daily/weekly jobs for exp : Most of these are win only, you don’t have the option of win gives you two pips and loss gives you one.
Flex : People don’t know what this mode does and are just plain ignorant of how it works. Queue into a game “OMG I got sup for the last time!” and they are gone.
Push : This
mode has the most amount of leavers after the first team fight and rightfully so, since its a different type of mode that in order to come back you need to really coordinate and swap accordingly. When 90% of the server has left comms cause of toxicity concerns good luck getting any messages across.
Also OP sadly this community is mostly “Its just QP!” you cant get around it. You suggest anything that is in comp and try to bring the same conditions outside you will immediately get hit by the Karens shrieking as they clutch their peals in distress. They dont realize that there are other things people are more interested in rather than their precious comp. Only their opinions matter.

I would love for there to be a leavers queue. Or after every game they quit, they get to backfill one.
As someone who plays alot of qp I would rather have leavers then throwers tbh. I dont see throwers often in my soloq games but i am seeing quite a few recently when grouping with friends. Enough im thinking it might be a bit of a problem in the metal ranks. I at least understand the rage quit but to spend 5 minutes emoting or doing just enough to not get kicked is crazy to me. Especially when there is no quit penalty.
Having said that quits should be included in the matchmaker and the people who think first 30 seconds of a match determine it lol really should be sandboxed together.
