For the love of god. If I’m mid diamond I should not be facing masters 4 and 5 players especially not a masters tank when mine is diamond.

You absolutely should, though. D3 to M4 can look intimidating but it’s not a wide match. Those Masters players are barely clinging on, they’re not much better than high Diamonds. Coming from someone who plays in Diamond most of the time.

I get to face or be with the same team up to 3 times in a row in Quickplay sometimes. You guys are telling me out of all these people playing, only they could be picked?

That’s not that big of a difference.
Sure, if your entire team is diamond 2 and the entire enemy team is masters 4, you’ll probably be at a bit of a disadvantage, but it’s not automatically an unwinnable game.

Honestly, mid diamond and low master are extremely close to one another. Especially if your MMR is high relative to your rank.

lol, try from my position. I’m silver and im constantly getting matched up against teams of plats and diamonds.
I literally just got out of a game where where 3 people had their profiles open, and one of them was diamond in every role, another was plat in every role but had some diamond mixed in in previous seasons, 2 of them were masters in previous seasons, and one of them got to GM one season and another got to T500 in one season…yet, OW seemed like it was a good idea to put them into my game…a silver player.

Queue times are on the rise again because less people are playing tank, again. Who could have guessed that nerfing them would make them even more frustrating to play? WEIRD.
So to keep things “normal,” it does actually make sense that people who peaked GM are able to get into the same lobbies as a silver player. Anything but giving us displacement resistance so we can do our jobs, right? Anything but that! The horror of Eskay not being able to boop her playthings off the map like literally everything else. I cannot even imagine.

Diamond 3 to masters 5 is a normal rank range for a game

Yeap, I main tank, but I haven’t been queueing it. Doing only supps and dps, but once 6v6 hits, I’m probably doing dps only again. Fun times, since I used to specialize projectiles as Genjie and Pharah, lol.

It’s literally a margin of error. A mid diamond player goes on a lucky streak and can get to masters 5, and vice versa.

Also GM5 players can drop to Masters 4 after losing 19 games in a row

Game knows you are secretly masters player. Try to play really bad on purpose, so it pushes you to lower ranks, then you will be too far for matchmaking to put you with masters.
Again? Did developers have memory loss or something and forgot, how did it work out before?

If you’re mid diamond, then you should be in Master because the rank distribution has been messed with and only like 0.3% of players are Master + where it used to be 6% of it.
That said, the Master players you’re facing should be in GM, and so on…so no wonder you’re hating it.
Yeah kinda crazy they claimed to prioritise matching tank MMR and all of a sudden I feel the tank diff way more than ever before. It sucks.

If you can’t keep up with low masters players you aren’t getting out of diamond. The way you climb out of a diamond would be playing like a masters players etc. If you’re dia 3 reaching into masters 4/5 is nothing absurd for match range. Also both tanks are going to be close in range even more than other roles with the recent change.
