Stop enabling people to be toxic

This game is the worst I’ve seen in terms of toxicity. I mean honestly, why is it okay for the enemy team to have supports but if my team has any they are dove and dove and dove and if they express any kind of dissatisfaction with it they’re told to get good, that they’re babies or that it’s a skill issue. It’s one thing to take out a support to win a fight but to dive them for simply existing? Really? The text chat is also ridiculous why is it that people looooove to call people racial slurs? Why is it that people think insulting the people that they’re already bullying is okay? I’ve heard time and time again that I should just uninstall if I hate playing so much but I shouldn’t have to, why is it my responsibility to uninstall because people can’t control themselves? Why am I the one who’s having to change here? I’ve been told to kill myself. Is that okay? Is that acceptable? No it’s not. Everytime they say they’ve banned a certain number of accounts there is a surge of just this overwhelmingly monstrous toxicity. But don’t worry if you clap back you get reported and banned because that makes sense. This needs to be fixed. Why has this gone on for so long? People can say that I’m a baby all they want or that it’s a skill issue or that I need to uninstall the game but it doesn’t change the fact that it needs to stop. And don’t act like being dove or told to go die hasn’t made you mad before.

You should just leave chat if toxicity gets under your skin. There is no particular reason to be in chat. If you are trying to climb, you do not really need advice from people at your rank. It’s not about changing yourself to accommodate toxicity, it’s about distancing yourself from it because it’s inevitable.

It’s not that the enemy team “gets” to have supports and you don’t, it’s that the enemy team’s strategy is to dive your supports, and your team’s strategy is something else. Supports have been the n°1 target for quite some time now, because without heals, it’s easier to kill the rest of the team. So the strategy makes sense (a tiny bit less now, since the patch, but still).
It is frustrating, and that’s one of the reasons why I’ve been playing a lot of dps lately instead of my preferred role which is support.

It’s not for “simply existing”, as I explained above.

I have not seen a single racial slur in 250+ hours of game (but I’m on EU servers, maybe it’s different elsewhere). As for insults and bullying, yeah, it definitely happens. I tend to think that the people who do that don’t have a very fulfilling life - it helps mitigate the frustration of being “bullied” or insulted. I also don’t take it personally.

Because you shouldn’t let comments online affect you too much. There are people like that everywhere online, because of the anonymity. It’s not just in game. You should try and not let that get to you.

No, it absolutely is not. Block, squelch an report is the best thing to do. And ignore what they say, too, because they’re not worth you paying attention to them.

It does  And then I take a deep breath, remember that it’s a game, and that there are stoopid people everywhere, and I move on. I watch an episode of a series if I really need to calm down before returning to the game.

This game is bad for toxicity, but by no means the ‘worst’ that I have seen. Your mileage may vary.

That’s how the game works sadly. Most smart teams will go for supports first.

I say this as a support player who spends their life hiding around corners and backing off from the dive. A part of the ‘job’ comes with making it really costly to repeatedly dive you. Either by picking a character that can defend themselves from dive, or by being so far back it leaves their team vulnerable.

It is annoying when the enemy go dive and you get no peels as support. But it’s part of the game and I have to learn to deal with it or just ‘gg go next’. It’s a non-issue, it’s just part of the game.

Because the kind of people who think it’s ok are getting a kick out of the responses they get. They want you to ‘clap back’ at them, they think it’s funny.

The people who enjoy that kind of thing are pretty sociopathic tbh. They are fuelled by making other people’s days miserable. So the best thing to do is just insta-block/mute/ignore/report.

You don’t have to uninstall. But if it’s getting to you, you can turn text chat off entirely.

If you’re ‘clapping back’, you’re making yourself a part of the problem. Again, the people trolling you are thriving on this, and they can’t wait to bait you into saying something so they can hit that report button on you.

Oh it can make anyone mad… but the difference here is how we react to those feelings. I can feel mad as all hell, but no one would ever know because I shut up about it.

If someone told me to self-delete in this game I wouldn’t say anything to them. Oh, they’d get reported and blocked, but they’d never know how I felt about that. They’re just immature trolls with the emotional intelligence of a mouldy grape. :man_shrugging:

Truth. In a platform where you have all kinds of personalities, you need to develop a thick skin and just learn to ignore all the hate. If there is one thing that some people are good at, it’s needling other people to get a rise out of them, or, they get satisfaction out of knowing they’ have upset you.

It’s best to just ignore these types, and set your efforts on better people.

The true question here is, why you and your team leaves their supports alone while yours are getting dove?
