Stadium Comp Rank Gain Disparity is Unfair

I know I’m not the first one to bring this up, and this isn’t my first time posting about it either, but the Stadium Comp rank gain system still feels broken. My duo partner and I are playing at the same level, but she only gets about 80 points per win, while I get 220. Because of that, we’re constantly pushed apart in rank until we can’t even queue together anymore, even though our skill is the same.

This has been pointed out on the forums multiple times already, but nothing seems to change. It doesn’t make sense that the system will happily throw us into games with Rookies, but somehow blocks me from playing with my partner just because she’s Pro and I’m Legend.

If the rank gain differences aren’t going to be fixed, at least let players queue with lower ranks so duos aren’t punished for trying to climb together. Right now, it feels like the system is actively pushing people away from playing with friends.

I dont even get the point of the rank disparity lockouts. Its not crazy news to anyone when they’re told the Stadium ranks are completely and utterly meaningless. Silvers get into Legend.

The ranks are like those LoL’s first iteration of Arena had. They are set dressing thats supposed to give you the feeling like youre rising through the rankings of a coliseum, a beginner gladiator into a seasoned professional. They’ve never meant anything about someones actual skill level and wont ever.

Imho just remove the rank disparity limit and remove unranked. Theres no real reason to split the player base outside of to appease people who are afraid of any outward quantifiers being attached to them. “Ranked” Stadium isnt a real ranked experience.

80? It means that she’s performing really poorly, personal stats wise, compared to whatever (hidden MMR) ELO she’s at. There’s not much she can do, other than drastically improving her performance. If you two stop playing together, she’ll lose a bunch of games and even out her rating eventually.

She gets MVP almost every match. And when she plays solo, her winrate is also strong, so performance definitely isn’t the issue here…

What you’re saying about 80 points meaning “poor performance” is simply wrong, at least after the latest patch. As of yesterday, 80 is the maximum anyone can earn per win or loss. That’s the cap, not a sign she’s underperforming.

The real problem is that some players, especially on Support, are still somehow getting 220 per win, even though the new system is supposed to be locked to 80. That’s the disparity I’m talking about: it splits duos apart because one person shoots up the ladder while the other is stuck.

This isn’t about performance. It’s about the rank system being broken.

probably because selecting support (boosted role) they get more rewards. because not playing support is basically throwing. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

The thing is it’s not every Support, just some of us. If it’s intended to work like this, we should acknowledge it’s completely unfair. I’m technically benefiting from this and I really don’t find it positive.

New system isn’t locked at 80 all roles can still gain 220.

It speeds you til you reach expected rating.

I don’t even lose rank til all star.

It’s impossible to have a “boosted role”, when your rank in a role is determined by comparing your performance to other people playing the exact same role.

It’s related to your MMR. The higher you were last season, the faster you’ll move through lower ranks the following season. It’s not affected by individual match performance.

It’s explained here. The dynamic rank system near the beginning.

That’s why it’s so frustrating, she has always been All-Star and used to win 100 or more points per win even while being at that rank. Now she barely gets 100 on Pro. Makes no sense.
