SR Loss Not My Fault?

I queued for a comp match today on my console account, as you do and lost SR due to a server issue.

Time to explain.

Queued up to play, and waited for it to come up with a game, keep in mind this is my second match of the day my first was stopped early due to a leaver within first minute of match and I’ve warmed up. Internet is working fine. Find a game, or so I thought. Search stops, yes, but I get served with a loss of SR (was 2330, now 2280) and a 10 minute ban. What for you ask? Good question. The game’s displaying a message in bottom left corner saying ‘Failed to connect to server’ so. Why am I getting punished for the game not working? Would love an explanation on this one.

This doesn’t mean that the game is not working, it means that your connection, somewhere between your home and the Blizzard servers is not working. As for the penalties, they are fully explained in this sticky thread: Overwatch Technical Issues, SR Loss, and Leaver Penalties - #6 by Drakuloth
