i’m not exaggerating when i say i would love to have a conversation with whoever’s idea it is to give a kiriko skin not only every season, but in multiple collabs as well??? why did we get yet another kiriko skin? why does she have SO many this isn’t even a meme at this point it’s past the point of plausible deniability.
i genuinely would love to hear their thought process on giving kiriko a new skin every two weeks.

The reason is money, they’ll stop giving her skins when nobody will buy them.

Me:
Okay, everyone! What sells?
The World:
__X SELLS!!!
You are either naive or a liar to not agree. Demographics find Kiriko attractive.

Kiriko and Mercy keep the lights on. I don’t care if they get plenty of new skins, but the amount now, compared to a lot of other heros who have barely gotten any (even like, OG heros, not just ‘new ones’) is starting to get kind of flabbergasting. Like toss the other heros a small bone, sometime please? It’s kind of nauseating and so transparent how hard they are milking this small community. And now we have Juno to add on top of that as small kawaii uwu girl to get on that pipe line. Between Mercy, Kiriko, Juno and somewhat Ashe and Widow…it feels like that market is like 50% of the skins we see every season.
I keep saying to myself ‘well, as long as it’s just skins and the balance continues in an intellectual manner’ but that isn’t happening either. So like…what’s the point, lol. The game is gonna die out with just the do-or-die mains of those 5 heros, (which isn’t even a team comp, lol) if they don’t balance well to go along with the dumb skin allocation. But for several seasons we had a basically ‘must-pick’ Kiriko because she was so busted, and the team was like ‘omg look how POPULAR she is! She needs TONS OF SKINS!’, and now the exact same thing has happened to Juno. She’s busted for months upon her release, they can’t/won’t balance her, and they’re starting to roll out the red carpet of skins for her, too.
Like…yeah, Zen or something doesn’t sell skins…because you don’t give us any new Zen skins to buy lol. I don’t doubt of course that these cute girl skins are top sellers, but they’ve said how Rein skins sell well also…and he’s got a huge model that is hard to design skins for! But he is decently balanced, and still popular despite that (as opposed to being popular because he is poorly balanced)…so they give him well designed skins (as clearly there are different pipelines for these skins; some are obviously of a higher caliber than others), and those skin sell well. Meanwhile, you give a hero like Soldier or something these ugly skins back to back because you’re not committed they’re gonna sell because he isn’t as popular…yeah, they’re not gonna sell, they’re ugly and cheap lol. It’s like a self fulfilling procephy.

Juno is far from an uwu girl. She has to be on so many anti anxiety meds

Go look up “overwatch survey skin concepts”. nearly every single one has a kiriko iteration.
Her stuff sells and they know it sells.

uwu girls can’t have anxiety? I don’t know the rules with this kind of thing.

Idk maybe, but Juno seems to be way to anxious around people to have that kind of attitude…she seems anxious when she is alone.

If you think about it, she is even more uwu because she has anxiety.

I agree with the other poster, I wasn’t aware (in a nonsarcastic way) there were any kind of limiters on uwu. I meant it more like a cutesy, likable to the e-audience, like manufactured to sell skins and look moe. If there is a different definition for uwu, it has skipped past my fingers. But I’m an old gamer girl, so the subtleties of the subgenres of the culture may be lost on me, haha.
I actually like Juno’s anxious personality (even if, from her in-game interactions it feels like it’s just something they sometimes toss in to give her more cute brownie points than an interesting thoughtful part of her design lol (coming from an anxious person!), and I really like her design and her kit. I’m happy she gets skins, if she gets balanced to go along with it haha. I’m a GM support player; I play her, and she is fun to play in theory, but not every single game for months on end lol. I’m Juno’d out. Haha.

Because her mains want to pay to play dress up in a game where you can only see your hands so get out their wallet for every mediocre skin Blizzard throw at them.

You can also see your skins when you die, and I’m doing that more than often enough to get my money’s worth.
In all seriousness, though, I’m getting disillusioned. I actually don’t like most of Kiriko’s skins, at least not enough to spend anything on them. I only got Toga because it makes cool noises, and I knew I’d regret not snatching it up. I passed on Crow’s Feet, I pass on Witch and Timekeeper every time, and I think I’ll pass on Green Amaterasu as well. If they were free, then hell yeah! I love collecting! But collecting isn’t fun when you can just buy whatever you want.

i guess thats just the way it is…

Is this where we pretend it’s only the mains buying all those skins
As I’ve said elsewhere, I don’t know Avatar. But I’m PRETTY sure I’ve seen a blue-clad chick named Katara more often than the character Kiriko plays in the collab.
I can only assume there was a direct effort made to have Kiriko in it. And that’s… wrong. VERY unfair.
