Something wrong with EU servers?

So I live in spain and usually get around 40-50 ping on the cdg server (Paris) and 70-80 ping on the ams (amsterdam) server. But lately i get 100 or more ping on cdg and 130 on ams server. Is something wrong with the servers? Edit: I get better ping on NA servers than on EU

Hey, alucard! Could you provide a WinMTR test to cdg and ams? Run the test until the problem occurs for 10 to 15 minutes. Copy and paste the text file created and paste it between two ~~~ like so:

~~~
WinMTR Here
~~~

If you have issues pasting here, use Pastebin and post the end of the link. (ie. 123456 for pastebin.com/123456)

In the past few days I’m experiencing this exact same lag, usually I have no problems at all.

Hey alucard,

What IP address did you run the WinMTR to? It looks like maybe the ISP prevented the entire path from being shown.

Can you try running a traceroute instead and post that? Let us know which server name and IP you ran the test to. Also include what your ping was in-game when the traceroute was going.

i ran it on the ip: on the cdg server. my ingame ping was 90 while running the test (i was in the practice range). hope i did it right.

Edit: Removed IP info

Hey alucard,

Looks like you somehow used your own IP address for the test. The IP you posted is for your home modem, so that’s why the full path isn’t showing.

When you look at the Network Graph in-game (Ctrl+Shift+N) the server IP and port are shown right after the server name. In this format:

[server] ip:port

Note you will need to remove the colon and port number after the IP address. (example 12.345.67.89:PORT)

Take the IP address from the Network Graph and use that to run the test.

well i hope this is right. doing my best ! :slight_smile:

I have the same thing apparently there are 2 EU servers and the game puts you on the far one, well that’s the problem for me anyways.

Alucard,

That test looks fine, oddly enough. You should only have been getting maybe 50 ms with that test. It also looks like you’re on a very nearby server. I checked out your connectivity stats that we’ve tracked on our end and it looks like in addition to these latency issues which don’t show on your tests, you may have had some disconnections too.

When you’re getting this 100+MS situation, is it constant or just spikes in connection while on that server? Are you wired to your router or on wifi? Do you have a separate modem/router, or a combo device? And have you done any troubleshooting on your end to try to fix this?

Sometimes my latency goes up to like 100+ but goes down very quickly. My phone is connected to my router and my Computer is connected to my phone. So my computer gets internet from my phone. I also tried to restart my router.

Alucard,

That is probably the problem. Using your phone to tether to your router is about the worst way you can connect to the internet. I’d install a PCIe wifi card or test on an ethernet cable to your router, even if you’re just using ethernet temporarily to test. A phone connection is notoriously unstable and that explains the latency wiggling between your PC and 192.168.42.129

I would assume the problem will be fixed on an ethernet cable. If it still persists while using that direct connection, please run a winMTR test instead while you are connected to your router via ethernet. We can use that to look for problems further down the line.

Thanks very much! :slight_smile:
