Something wrong with audio


For a past month or so, I experience sound issues very similar to what described in this thread:, such as sounds volume inconsistency, missing sounds and low overall game volume.

Here what I managed to capture when trying to replicate this issue in a custom game: I tested several maps and characters with multiple combinations.

To summarize, footsteps (possible other sounds) sometimes don’t play when multiple sources of the same sound is present. I didn’t notice any missing footsteps with multiple different characters or on multiple different surfaces, at least when I tested. At one occasion, McCree’s falshbang sound was missing. Also, no sound on medkit pickup.

Now, I’m writing this after almost a week of continuous troubleshooting and back-and-forth with support (US65188573). I would say I did everything I could in an attempt to solve this problem on my end, including such radical steps as Windows reinstallation and hardware tinkering. Plz fix it :frowning:

That is, frankly, bizarre! And the system wasn’t being overloaded by too much stuff going on so I don’t think this can be resigned simply to memory loss issues, it seems there’s something wrong with the audio system itself bugging out.
