I don’t play comp but why a guy should be blamed for the hero he pick if he try his best to win ?
The hero is weak ? And ? At least this guy don’t use easy hero for feel good and try hard to win with the hero he love.
What wrong with that ? It’s a game, instead of blaming here, use your mic and try new thing. TP and turret are way underestimated.

In comp: you’re aupposed to play to win. And by you picking her and forcing everyone to play around you who exactly is forcing their teammates to adapt? It’s the symmetra.
I give em a minute or two but after that they have to carry their weight or the team has to ask them to try someone else.

I’ve been one of the people using Symmetra competively, and even winning games with her.
Wtf is this topic. Focus on playing and winning the game, the only reason on getting involved with the comp and hero selection is when things don’t work and only suggest. And even in that occasion sym might not be the issue.

Is Symmetra even bad in comp? I’ve been doing fine with her in QP, winning a substantial part of my matches and usually getting at least silver damage/elims (and often gold). And, when I switch off because I lose confidence in her, the match usually starts to go much worse. I think there’s a real chance she might be underrated.
Seriously, I am reliably outdamaging high-damage heroes like Junkrat and Reaper with her. Only Hanzo really reliably outshines her and that’s because he’s so crazy overpowered (and you can always have him as your other dps).
Pretty bad. Turrets might as well not exist, and her portals are tracked easily even in gold. Bound to be worse the higher you go.

Depends. Are they actually using a mic and trying to coordinate their oh-so-crucial-for-getting-sym-value-teleporter? I’ll try my hardest if you are. Or are they the more common silent Sym who is jaded and bitter and doesn’t wanna hear the sym nagging? Yep, going to treat you like the throw pick you’re behaving as.
If you want to be taken seriously as a hero main with a bad rep in comp, you have to take the initiative. Be proactive and communicate what you’re trying to do. I guarantee you people like me will work with you. If you give me that chance, so will I.

everytme you see a Sym on your team. However this gives me an idea. I think I am going to snap pick Sym every match to try and bait the toxic losers to quit early so I can find a match that doesn’t contain such narrow minded players.
I won’t PLAY Sym of course, I am really bad with her. That won’t stop me from rooting for others to play her though!
I like how multiple people here immediately throw in the towel if they see a symmetra pick even before said symmetra has gotten the chance to prove themselves. Or immediately switch to throw pick, expecting a loss and self-perpetuate and yet blame the symm for daring to choose their best character with usually higher than average winrates to boot.
And this character just got a rework and is still treated like it’s a throw pick. Great job, what did we need the rework for the first place then if the players are treated the exact same?
Just worry for your own performance people and let the symm worry about theirs. More than likely you’d be positively surprised. Or how about get some honest to god self-assesment and admit you can be at fault as well and not shift blame to everyone all the time just because it may hurt your ego.
Not everyone likes playing hanzo or mccree or widow or genji or tracer or doomfist or is any good with those characters. Let people play their niche characters too, even if it’s not a supposed carry dps.

I’ve actually been lucky with the Symm’s I’ve played with, both they they knew what they were doing and the enemy had no idea what to do about her.
So as it is, I’m prepared to give benefit of the doubt.
I’m more worried about Sombras, McCrees and Meis sucking because I’ve overwhelmingly more bad experiences with them.
I told her to slay all those juicy ennemy with her beautiful right click
Sym can devestate teams. I have a team wipe recored somewhere with my sym. It was low plat ranking.
Reading the responses to this thread and how a great many are negative makes me a little ticked my hero got essentially deleted and remade just to be back in the same boat of a different color.
I’m like Judge Judy tapping her watch for proper Symmetra buffs and to put her in a state people actually don’t “teehee time to practice Hanzo” when they see her.

Give them the benefit of the doubt like anyone else and tell them and the rest of your team to switch if what they’re running isn’t working.
