Sombra is Not OP -- Here's Why

I have no sympathy for anyone who says Sombra’s OP. She’s been a troll pick since launch, at best played in place of a second support to hack healthpacks and EMP only.

Her hack speed is fine, keep in mind that whoever she’s hacking also has 5 other teammates that should be aware of Sombra, don’t just wait until she hacks one of your teammates and say “Gosh darnet that was fast” Yeah well thats her job and she needs to be reliable at it, just because Sombra isn’t an EMP bot anymore and she can actually do her job as a Disrupter that can pull of kills doesn’t make it too powerful, her doing that is much better than before where even if you tried to stop Sombra from hacking someone, damaging her was only feeding her the EMP when she teleported away, not it doesn’t, thats why she needs to be successful and reliable at her job (flanking, hacking, and killing) because that’s where her viability is, it’s not about her farming her EMP anymore. Not to mention she has one of the hardest counters in the game, 1 damage.

okokok if you honestly think doom is good you are wrong he is by far the worst dps in the game

ok, get back to us when you can make someone useless by actually killing them instead of relying on what is now essentially an uninterruptible hack

yeah, so disruptive

like cheaters, throwers or leavers

but keep on thinking you’re fightin the good fight and gonna win it

From all the matches i played so far i never found sombra an issue, she’s an easy target for burst damage when hacking, it’s your fault if you are alone and have no awareness.

Not every character has a reliable way to deal that 1 damage is the problem.

The hack is so quick now, that between presses of mouse 1 Sombra is actually able to hack Lucio, if he doesn’t hit with the third blob.

Ana is already in the worst spot for a support, and has 1/10th of a second to react to Sombra. Shooting and Sleep Dart have a 0.5 second delay to hit. (Unless the Sombra is less than 5 metres, THEN you could hit her)

well its not like you have to take an IQ test to use the forums

It’s the teams job to deal with sombra not the support, it’s easy to burst her down if she appears from stealth hacking

Lucio is a disruptor as well; why should Sombra delete his entire kit to have the same role as him?

Are you kidding me? Are you incapable of pressing left mouse button to deal that one point of damage?

You do realize Sombra is behind your entire team alone, and if none of you can turn around and deal 1 damage to her than that’s just sad.

But more importantly, there’s nothing wrong with Sombra being able to successfuly hack a target, IT’S HER JOB! She needs to be reliable at it or else she would just end up in an even WORSE postition than before because now taking damage and healing yourself won’t get you you’re EMP, the whole point of buffing her gun and hack is to make her job more reliable because that’s where she needs to be viable now, not just in her EMP anymore.

I don’t know about you but I’d rather deal damage than take it 24/7 to be viable, whether it’s about getting your EMP or not, plus… Sombra hacking you doesn’t kill you, it makes you vulnerable for 6 seconds… sure a healer will be easy to hack and they’ll be vulnerable but this also isn’t Call of Duty, you have 5 other teammates that can protect you or atleast scare Sombra away especially since now it won’t just feed her her EMP when you damage her. Sombra is a Stealth flanker, just because she’s a threat to you doesn’t mean she needs to be nerfed, Sombra is going to be useful now, she’s a DPS/Disrupter now, not a Support/EMP bot… get used to it.

If you read what I said

Ana and Lucio’s attacks unless within 5 metres are too slow to leave you more than 1/10th of a second window to react

Almost like projectiles have travel time

She was never picked enough to define a meta, but who knows, maybe she’ll still be F tier

Lucio’s LMB projectiles travel 50m/s. Ana’s over 80m/s. Sombra’s hack has a range of 15m. Your argument is invalid in every way.

While that’s true, for Lucio at least it’s a very slow moving projectile shot in a predicable four round burst. It’s one of the least precise weapons in the game. A pro or top 500 Lucio main will average in game accuracy for Lucio at around 30-35%. That’s really good for his gun. I’ve practiced and practiced and have a very good understanding of his gun and can typically get around 30%, falling to 25% if it’s a bad game for me. Yet I still am hardly able to interrupt a Sombra with any degree of reliability as she is on the live servers now. All she has to do is stand slightly further back -Lucios Soundwave’s range is 8m, and Sombras hack is 15m, while Lucios aura is 10m. I’ve fought a Sombra 1v1 along a straight bridge while she had perhaps the 10-15m range apart and, even though I shot in essentially a straight line with a slight weave to account for her trying to dodge, it’s literally just a matter of bobbing between his slow, non splash damage projectiles and hacking him the second his four round burst ends. Literally -the burst lasts for one second, and Sombras hack now goes off before he can sent more shots her way.

For some heros it’s almost impossible to interrupt a hack in normal situations.

Erm, your technically correct on TF2 but deeply misleading.

The Crusaders Crossbow in TF2 was a projectile that did 38-75 damage depending on your range that fired once every 1.6s. The farther away you were the higher the damage up to a point. As the Scout had 125 base hp you could two shot him if you hit him at long range twice. I 'm not sure I ever in over 400 hours as Medic killed a Scout that way. It rarely made sense to be engaging them at that range and hitting them twice at that range was really iffy.

Healers have far more offensive capabilities in Overwatch than they did in TF2 outside of the lower skill levels and melee range when random crits are on. (Syringe Gun murders people that walk in straight lines but can’t hit evasive players well)

All I want is boop or my aura to be kept on give me one and take the rest I don’t care

I agree, 0.65 seconds is not enough.
But 0.9 seconds were too much, so we need something like 0.7 or 0.8 seconds i think.
