"Sombra is being played on Contenders so she's fine"

Wut ??, i didint understand

He said he thinks its too early but everyone he trusts about sombra say it was a nerf, i cant find the link to it.

No? Nothing there states she is bad.

basically a very strict set of things need to line up before that hero is called in and is actuly the right move. far more then just a map.

if a comp is used every time on that map, or very offten even and it works most of the time. that the maps meta

This whole “Sombra needs coordination/communication” thing is kind of getting out of hand.

If I stealth in and Hack the Reinhardt shielding his whole team, my teammates aren’t morons. They’ll start shooting just like they would if the shield broke.

If a Hammond or Doomfist engages in my team’s face, everybody shoots at them until they escape or die. Hack stops them from escaping to make sure they die.

When my team engages, they try to kill everybody on the other team. If I lead the engage with EMP and drop Zenyatta to 50 HP and Zarya to 200 HP, my team will just kill them faster. They also won’t get counter-engaged by Gravitron thanks to their friendly Sombra, whether they realize it or not.

Hack and EMP are certainly better with teamwork. For example, Hacking most supports is a pretty guaranteed dive kill, as Overwatch Contenders is showing us. Sombra has intrinsic value outside of those strategies, though. She stops Heroes from doing dangerous things and lets her team do more dangerous things to them. You don’t “need” your team to play around you.

Naaa, wtf are you talking about dude.

A niche is a ‘’ meta’’ where 1 or + heros excel because of their abilities(ilios orisa-road)

A meta is a compostion with the strongest heros in the game at the time that wins in most of the scenarios (Deatball with grav dragon right now)

A Niche hero refers to a character that has use in a specific situation, but is really good in that situation those kind of heros have low pickrate but good winrate.
Sombra has bad winrate and bad pickrate.

YourOverwatch was trying to say she’s super strong now. As if her most recent balance changes were the reason.

The first sentence from Danteh is literally “she was still bad last patch” lol.

Her new play style is similar to Spy from TF2. Just have to learn how to play with her new style.

As in. The patch before this one.

Yes, the “was” as in the last patch that went through before the one with support changes…

As in, the one that Contenders is playing with.

So she was bad. But aren’t now.

k well, i guess that more matter how you define meta or what is a specific situation.

i don’t think a map is all that specific the map is the same every time the heros that are good on it are the same every time.

if you look at the game in that general of a sense you lose a ton of intricacies.
99% there is not just a be all end all comp. maybe only dive back in the day when it was all dive all the time.

looking at meta based on map’s i think is a much better way to look at the game, then if you want to go one step further, meta and counter meta, you see they are playing a comp that is the counter to your comp that has a counter as well.
so on rock paper sissors type.

meta more mean’s general rules of the game that are under stood to be true

You know who has a better elim to death ratio and elim stat

MOIRA WHO IS A SUPPORT.

Being on the winning team as Sombra is not impossible, if your team is coordinating with your hacks she can do fairly well despite her flaws.

They are afraid to buff her too much because hack is a powerful move.

agree she has always walked a very thin line, and no one wants a stealth assasin to be op and a must pick…it is never fun to play against

Well, that’s arguable. But that’s not what I was referring to.

People are saying Sombra is good in Contenders, which is using that older patch (not with the new support changes). That’s what that tweet from YourOverwatch is about - “She’s good and she’s used in Contenders!”

Fitzy and Danteh are both saying that she’s bad in the patch - the same one that’s used in the Contenders, which people are saying Sombra is meta and powerful.

All I’m saying is, Danteh and Fitzy are saying she’s still not good in that patch. Not really speaking about Sombra balance-wise because she’s slowly getting there.

I like new Sombra. I’m sure there are always possible tweaks, but I like her.

im not talking about KD… read again

If sombra was usable enough for her to be used in contenders, and now is better, isn’t that great?

But, that’s kind of the debate. People think that just because they used her in contenders in one region, that she is 100% fine (and some have claimed that she’s OP).

Whether or not that’s true is a matter of opinion. :man_shrugging: I don’t think it’s anecdotal evidence. I made the point earlier that Contenders in different regions had different “must-pick” heroes, too, so that doesn’t speak too much on a hero’s balance in ladder play.
