Skye is the ‘sombra’ of paladins. Her kit has equivalents of Virus and uzi, stealth has a 10 second duration, but can only be broken by attacking ( incoming damage will not break it), she has another button that drops smoke grenades, putting her in stealth for a 3 second duration, refreshing as long as she is in the AoE. She can be modified so that the grenades also heal over time akin to Soldier’s heal pad.
So I would venture to guess because the exact kit that players are trying to demand is in another game, there is likely a copyright issue somewhere for blizz to give Sombra ‘that’ kit.
People would throw the biggest tantrum ever if Sombra had Skye’s ult, can you imagine Sombra tossing a d.va bomb? especially with the changed invisibility?
that is never gonna happen my guy… Sombra has always been a utility flanker, rework just also made her a good assassin… that’s also not how balance updates work lol
And she’s also always been fundamentally game-breaking. Disabling the hero part of a character’s kit in a hero shooter will never fit well together, nor will it ever feel good to play against.
Hack is, by definition, anti-Overwatch. Doesn’t help that it’s an auto lock-on ability.
i’ll bet you $1000000000000000000000000000000000000 that Anti-overwatch isn’t even in the Webster’s dictionary… which if it’s not, means you’re just plain wrong.
Interesting. Anytime you feel like paying up, let me know. I’d include the link, but fhey don’t let us.
It’s written correctly with the hyphen indicating that it is a prefix for the word overwatch. Which is a word, changing it to mean “opposite of overwatch” when applied as a prefix.
If you don’t care and it’s not pertinent, maybe don’t bring it up and then whine when you’re shown to be wrong.
That or stick to trying to argue Terms of Service technicalities.
You’re the one that brought up the dictionary and tried to make a grammar argument.
What, did you really think you had a “gotcha” with that and nobody would call you out and take you up on your challenge? Now you wanna argue about staying on topic?
Maybe you shouldn’t have tried to introduce a new topic in the middle of one in order to try to sound smart.
The ability to disable any other ability within 0.5 seconds of casting hack from any position, at any time is broken enough as is.
You’re expecting people to react to something they cannot see, until the Sombra decides to let her presence be known, (which could be at the most inconvenient time for the other player, like in the middle of a duel) and you expect them to 180 perfectly aligned with the Sombra to stop her hack with maximum precision?
Even in the cases where a person can react fast enough, it’s another layer of character limitation (like animations) that prevents them from being able to do anything because of how quickly hack happens.
Just the canceling of momentum on it’s own allows for the instant annihilations of even some of the most health-having heroes in the game.
What type of game is Overwatch? A hero shooter. What do people who play hero shooters expect to do when they get on a hero shooter? Use the unique heroic abilities of the characters they chose (hence the name hero shooter).
Sombra denies the very thing people look to do when they get on Overwatch.
Also what a brilliant question to ask me. Prove with evidence that a feeling isn’t opinionated. Something that is entirely psychologically based and changes from person-to-person.
The only statistical evidence that can possibly be provided is if I asked every person who has ever played Overwatch if they like/dislike playing against Sombra. That’s not physically possible, but a majority of people already state how much they dislike Sombra, which is overwhelmingly more than the number of people who enjoy playing against her.
That is your evidence, which you will obviously deny because I did not provide some sort of magic poll of all the Overwatch players opinions on it and blah blah it’s biased blah blah.
Right, so I can see this is a non-conversation then.
Skye’s ult (at least when I played) goes through shields… so… A d.va ult that goes through shields (and breaks them)… so basically EMP but death instead of some damage and ability lockout.
prove that this is what is required 100% of the time with only objective evidence
this is exactly why the whining doesn’t matter. Updates aren’t made based on feelings BECAUSE it changes from person to person… the sooner people realise this, the better for the community as a whole.
then perhaps stop trying to pass opinion off as fact…
Prove it. show me the numbers.
Prove it… show me the numbers.
there are a LOT of wild claims with absolutely nothing to back it up…
wrong. Balance isn’t subjective… it is absolute, measurable, and undenyable… THAT is why they are called ‘Balance’ updates… THAT is why statistics are recorded for competitive seasons…
