I’m looking forward to it.
I’m a dps player. But septate SR’s would actually get me to try and play others roles because I would want to know how I would rank. And in time even get better and try to bring up my tank and healer rank up to my DPS rank.
I’ll be doing my tank placements first, healer second - i dont really care much about DPS.
The reason why that’s good? So i get a TANK SPECIFIC RATING that shows how good i am with TANKS.
Nah, you’re just feeling sorry for yourself. Everyone thinks the DPS queue is gonna be a bad thing, but we dont know how bliz will combat that yet.
Its not DPS shaming, its “people who dont give a crap about team comp” shaming.
Did I miss something? Who is saying you won’t be able to change roles? That sounds like garbage.
What is the functional difference between a “placement” match and a regular ranked match for you? They’re just ranked matches why does it matter if you know where you’re ranked?
Theoretically in the 2-2-2 world if you join as a tank you can’t swap to DPS/Support, it wouldn’t be 2-2-2 anymore and completely defeat the purpose.
I am going to laugh my winky face off if people actually have to do separate placement matches for each role.
The problem with the so-called flex players that like to switch every few minutes to different roles is that in their heads they are helping.
But the reality of the situation is that they are leaving their teams without a healer or tank when they switch to a DPS to try to do the other person’s job better.
And most of these people are of a certain rank on healers and tanks and they play DPS at a lower skill level, even though they think their DPS skill matches whatever rank there in at the moment.
So let’s say they are a diamond player and they exclusively play healer.
It doesn’t show on their rank that’s their DPS skill is probably at a gold level.
So when they switch they handicapped the team by making one other players a gold rank DPS player. But in their heads this flex player is going to play the DPS role at a diamond level. Which isn’t the case.
Is there no way they can change heroes at the same time? Maybe they could make it so swapping heroes completely deselects your hero or something?
Wait for me! I’ll join you.
And vice-a-versa…
That’s role q. 2-2-2 you can still swap role if you ask but in solo we got already role q.
So weird that one-tricking was last years problem and now people are saying hot garbo like this ^
As a realistic player. I don’t want 2-2-2 because it’ll “put the selfish DPS in their place”. I want it so I can win or lose while playing a role I actually like. I want 2-2-2 because I want to be able to have a half decent team comp where I can play support without having to swap to tank (a role I hate because it is NEVER fun).
I’m tired of getting teams of 5 support mains where 3 of us have to be on our off roles where we aren’t as good. (Why am I the only one who has this issue?). I’m tired of having 4 DPS where I have to struggle and usually fail to keep the team alive alone while I’m getting focused.
2-2-2 won’t solve player stupidity. But I’d rather have a team of Sym, Widow, Hog, D.va, Zenny, and whatever main healer I decide to play for that comp (possibly Mercy since we’ll be kinda spread out); than a team where theres 4 of us on a role, and we either stay 4 a role or swap to heroes we aren’t as good at. I think the only role that doesn’t have this issue is tank, because no one wants to tank so you’ll never have 4 tanks a game.
TLDR: If I’m gonna lose. I’d rather lose while having fun.
I have those games fairly frequently. At least once a week if I’m actually putting time into comp. We generally end up running triple tank in those instances and it works out.
Also, I see a lot of main healers (myself included) instalock their preferred hero and they rarely swap to counter anything, or even just to get an off-support because having multiple main healers is redundant and doesn’t help much. Moiras and Mercys and Anas with 90+% of their time on just that one hero, but because you don’t want to play that role we’re free from criticism.
onetricking was a legit problem that proved that the community dislikes switching and flexing and prefers to play the hero they want… the devs even went that far to contradict themselves by making a game that is based on the spirit of switching and countering and sayinfg “nope you cannot report one tricks… hehehehehehehehe”… the reality is that flexing is not as popular as people want it to be
I am one of these so-called flex players. My Tanking, DPS, and Support rankings are within 200SR of each other. I can gain or lose more than that in a day’s play.
The people who are deluded are those who think there are entire ranks between their role ability.
I’m not encouraging one tricking, that is nonsense.
I play around ten different DPS Heroes at my highest levels that I can switch to.
but if I switch to a tank or healer I play those roles at a much lower skill level then I do my DPS characters.
People will see me as the good guy when I flex to a tank or healer but in reality I am throwing because I play those roles at a lower skill rank than where I’m at.
Even in the Overwatch league they are practicing a role system right now.
They hire specialists actual one tricks in a sense.
Teams hire tracer one tricks, widow one tricks, Zen one tricks, dva one tricks, etc.
Each player has their role they play. They even have a symbol next to their names when you see them on the screen.
And OverWatch league is supposed to be showing us the correct way to play the game at its highest level.
Anyhow there’s nothing you can say that can convince me that these flex players that want to switch every few minutes during the game can play every role at their highest level.
And if this is the case with some players it is a very small percentage of the flex player base.
Lol another person that makes no constructive argument but instead throws out insults because someone dare post something they don’t agree with.
then don’t do them… no one is forcing you to do all 3 role placements?
Ive made plenty actually. Theres nothing in this post to agree with because its just another baseless assumption of what MAY happen by some1 who hates the idea of 222.
They may completely scrap season-placements once MMRS are all readjusted which means 3 sets of 10 placement games just one time would be absolutely fine. Once again, no1 knows how theyll do it.
