Blizzard: “Oh no, Sombra has low pickrate and low winrate! We must buff her to please the stat gods”
*proceeds to overbuff her
Blizzard: “Oh no, she has a high pickrate and good winrate! We must nerf her to please the stat gods”
*proceeds to kick her back to OW1
rinse and repeat
Maaaybe just maybe having an objectively bad-for-game hero design is what’s wrong with her, not her performance overall. Imagine if T4 actually wanted to make the game healthy. Due to layoffs that will be even less likely now.

Seriously, the point of a REWORK should have been to consider the design behind the hero. That should have been step one. And realistically that is the problem with most of their balance decisions. They are not considering the design. It’s just change for the sake of change and addressing knee jerk reactions months late.
Looking at Blizzards logic its either Doom or Genji lol
The devs have already announced plans to reduce Pharah’s flight time.
Yeah, the current dev team tends to like to gut the higher skill ceiling heroes and mega buff the heroes that already have get out of jail cards… They seems to want the game to be more about trolling than anything, so I’m sure they’ll make another god awful decision… They haven’t failed to make a giganitic mistake every big patch since that guy Alec Dawson took over.
Yea true, but how they go about it could amount to her being “gutted”, especially if they just like halve her airtime with nothing in compensation.
Since we don’t really know their exact plans, and the execution is another beast entirely, I stand by Pharah being a dark horse possibility.
Let’s all hope is that trash rework of Sombra
I played the ‘new’ sombra for the first time last night. Only played three matches with her. Absolutely destroyed with her each time, and I barely knew what I was doing. It’s easy enough to get kills with her just from hack/pew pew’ing them to death… but add in that ‘virus’ ability and you can practically face roll your keyboard and get value with her.
Wouldn’t surprise me at all if she is the one who gets gutted.
Hopefully any hitscan/sniper hero because they’ve been on another level in comparison to all the other DMG heroes, with Mercy being the biggest enabler to this group. It was Widow/Mercy in OW1 in the early days, followed by Ashe/Mercy, Soldier/Mercy, Bastion/Mercy, etc.
The hitscan/snipers need to be put in line with the rest of the DMG heroes in terms of power. If Mei needs to get 2 inches from the entire enemy team to do something then Soldier or Ashe need have similar risk/reward value just sitting on a perch up high with Mercy holding M2 on them.
if the devs have any sense they will nerf perma 55% winrate brig. and by gutted it will mean she only has a 52% winrate.
If it’s based on the complaints in the forums : Sombra/Mercy.
If they truly intend to reduce burst damage : probably Widow/Hanzo.
Update: It was my Beautiful Boi Hanzo
Hanzo can’t one shot anymore so there is that but wouldn’t say gutted.
It’s junkrat. Junkrat is the hardest hit with the “leaked” changes. He loses the ability to combo anyone but tracer and widow with everyone else being at 250HP. He received no compensating buffs (outside projectile size increase). Without the ability to burst a hero down and assassinate them he loses most all of his value at the higher levels.

If it’s a damage character getting nerfs then it is all of these. People complain about Hanzo and Widowmaker OHK 24/7. People complain about Soldier 76 and Sojourn support pockets 24/7. People complain about the Junkrat wumbo combo like they used to about Roadhog’s chain hook and LMB. Sombra is bad design and not overpowered in current patch. All it requires is support keeping their eyes open like they do with any flanker.
He’s gonna be F tier, without the OHK he’ll need a rework.
Called it…It was always going to be Junk. Hero is F tier if the patch notes are true.
This right here.
