Three times the McCree air roll has been in experimental, and all 3 times a majority of people, probably almost the entire community, has said it is not a good change that needs to happen. And it is still put into the live game?
I thought experimental was meant to gather people’s opinions on changes and whether we like or don’t like them. I was under the impression that the experimental card is for opinions, while PTR is for bug testing (which was, as far as I know, the reason the experimental card was created).
So with that in mind, the balance developers just decided to completely disregard the 3 whole times its been disliked by the community and force it into the game? Has this ever happened before in Overwatch? I don’t think something like this has happened to other Blizzard games, at least from what I’ve asked from my friends that play WoW and Diablo, where an unpopular change is offered up 3 times and is still forced into the game. Is this really the precedent that the Overwatch team wants to continue?
I know the devs have never listened to the community and thought their “grand plan” about the game is better than the community’s and other major figures’ opinions, but this is just absurd imo.
They don’t care, they don’t listen, and they never will unless your a pro player or content creator. Don’t bother leaving feedback because you’d might as well be talking to a brick wall. This “balance” team continues to leave trash heroes trash and keep buffing strong heroes.
It’s best you just don’t care anymore. Save your breath and efforts and save it for a game worth using. I’ve been playing this game since season 3 and last time I checked racked up 4497 (edit, if you want the actual number now it’s 4,552) hours on this game. This balance team is actually trash and even then that’s an insult to actual trash.
This shows you that according to Blizzards own internal stats, he is not performing to their liking.
So they have tried to push the air roll, faster reload, longer distance on roll, 25 more hp, and nothing seems to be working as far as their internal numbers.
If you dont like the air roll or 25 more HP then the only other option for tweaks is more damage. And i think the devs have been trying everything BUT adding more damage to him.
So sure take away the air roll and even the 25 hp, if it means more damage given instead.
And as i explained , it has to be something added as he isnt performing as they would like.
im expecting a popularity/pickrate response and missing everything i said entirely , in 3…2…1…
Who gives af about their internal stats, these are the same devs that literally DON’T PLAY THEIR OWN GAME.
Cree is absolutely a top 5 DPS and did not need any form of buffs. When the community has a large margin saying the change is bad after THREE ENTIRE EXPERIMENTALS, then obviously the hero is not weak or needs buffs.
I was trying to remember how many times they’d tried this.
Was it 3 times on experimental with this being the 4th attempt?
Or 3rd time total, 2 on experiment and this one being a “screw it” attempt?
Either way- it’s pretty damn annoying. Reality is they’ve tried this multiple times. Stop.
I used to defend the balance team- but man, they do things like this and it gets harder.
“Hey guys here’s a change we tried before and failed with. We realize you just weren’t ready for it and we know it’s a great idea so we’re gonna do it again. You’ll like it this time we swear”
at this point im pretty sure the person who balances the game probably spends about 30 minutes thinking about them now. i mean if OW2 is coming out (sometime) why put hours into thinking about balance for OW1

Agreed. I don’t understand how he can’t just dive into the enemy team get a couple kills and just escape at will with no opposition stopping him. Its crazy that I have plenty of heroes that i can instantly delete and out of those 32 only a few have some type an escape from insta deletion, … on a cooldown. We must rid the game of anything that keeps Doom from getting easy kills.

He literally engaged onto a stunned cassidy. Let me repeat that, a fast paced assassination hero engaged onto a mid ranged hitscan who was stunned and still survived.
The play was literally fine on the doomfists part. And he still got out alive lol. It’s easy enough to just hit a flash, now you can literally roll out of his combos.
Its not like Doom mains havent been complaining about Cree for months before the air roll.
They basically complain about anything that keeps them from diving into the enemy without a care in the world, deleting a hero or two and getting away Scott free like a bandit.
If anything disrupts that , they hate it and want it gone from the game.
TBH, i could care less about the air roll lol. All i have ever said is that McCree hasn’t been performing well, and the devs noticed.
They were going to give him something. I would have preferred something else tbh. Faster reload, slightly faster fire rate, etc, but still something.
Also im not a “fan” of fan the hammer either.
