So junkrat got a buff today

Considering the recent direction of the devs, they might buff his bullet size even more.

And so it begins. The point of the patch was to remove 1-shots and easy combo kills. Now the will slowly start adjusting damage up again. First junk, then hanzo, then sojourn, and so on, and we will be right back where we started.

They should not be giving junk his combo back. That defeats the purpose of the patch.

Thats way to much maybe 130 and 120 but 140 primary is way to bug of a jump

Yeah if this is real we’re just gonna see so many posts from other hero mains that lost their combos

The game just goes back to walking around a corner and getting combo’d before you can even react

I understand that the heros suck if they can’t combo you in a fraction of a second but surely there are more ways to make them viable apart from having a crutch one shot combo

Junkrat is and always has been a special case. Generally speaking, he’s slow, loud, and obvious with a big hitbox and difficult skill ceiling/value at higher SRs. People who spam/spray and pray don’t often also hit combos.

As you climb the ranks, he’s very easily counterable/killable by nearly every other DPS hero, unless the Junkrat has gone far out of his way to learn every single advantage to leverage himself in order to be viable (still, players like that often know when to swap). The simple fact is, Junkrat doesn’t hard counter any other DPS hero (which is part of what makes OW strange and unique), and as such he exists/operates in a way that requires his kit or upper abilities to also lean into being strange and unique. Things like that enrich the game for many of us.

That’s also the justification for Trap completely immobilizing people (despite only tanks and supports having hard CC) and Rat needing a quick combo. If you don’t give him an effective combo or compensatory damage you either leave him to rot at most ranks (which isn’t fair/heroes should be treated like that), or you have to buff other things that would make him intolerable at lower ranks (like Grenade/Mine size). Imagine removing Reaper’s close-range burst damage without other buffs; that’s what they’ve done to Junkrat.

Why would other heroes dmg be nerfed? When the issue is junkrat not doing enough dmg right now to be viable with the increased health pools.

Bringing everyone down just means everyone gets nerfed AGAIN.

Supports were nerfed with a global 20% healing nerf and dps were nerfed with a hp increase. What is hard to understand?

Inb4 some widow or whatever argument. The charge time is higher. Simple as that, and would you know the hit boxes were increased for everyone. Including supports. Zen is a beast right now, which for me is fine, but some people are losing their crap about it. A lot of supports actually, which is hilarious.

I get that but the point of the patch according to the devs is to reduce burst damage. Of course, I didn’t mean reduce everyone universally again, but only toning down the heroes that are over performing. If they did that, then I’d like to know how Junkrat would perform relative to the other mid-level performing heroes in a situation where the pool of heroes is widened once the over performing ones are brought down. But you might be right, he might just need a raw damage buff instead. I just wished they explored the alternative options instead of just going backwards with the hp vs damage thing again. But who knows, as someone else argued he might really be a special case and needs it for his RNG.

Trust me, this won’t help with Kiriko being in every game. You’ll just get frustrated at Kiriko.

Increases support burden and removes player agency and makes them reliant on support, that causes frustrating situations where support ignore you and there’s not any health pack nearby. We don’t need more burn or dots in the game. I would honestly prefer he has his two shot back over this.

My guess is the buffs aren’t that astounding and won’t focus on his main projectiles.

Probably tire goes to 125 HP, Trap goes to 130-150 damage so trap/mine combo actually kills squishies again.

If we’re lucky, he’ll get a 6th grenade in the launcher.

There isn’t a way to make Junk viable in high ranks without the combo. The only other option is to gigabuff everything else in his kit and that would break metal ranks. There’s really nothing else you can do with him.

The issue with Junk is awful kill confirmation on top of slow ttk if he doesnt have the combo. All while being range capped. He cant function without burst because of how limited the rest of his kit is.

That doesn’t mean it’s possible for every hero without substantial reworking and there’s no suggestion that they want to rework Junkrat.

Why? Season 9 his combo had a 30 damage margin of error for mine fall off and this change would give him 20 damage. He’d still be weaker than he was.

Probably. It also wont solve the problem and he’ll remain trash.

I’m guessing they might revert the size nerf he got before the adjustment so it’s the same as Pharah’s (which means 0.35>0.4), or maybe shave off 1-2 seconds on his mine cooldown so he can use them more for mobility. Dream would be projectile speed increase so you can take fights further away.

Better than having Ana every game as far as Im concerned. Anti can shove it
