2 days into stage 2 and I’ve already seen Mercy used a couple times both days.
Even NYXL, with Ark (their main Mercy player) down and out, used her today some.
Obviously not as much as before, but she’s still getting some screen time.

Her screentime has more than just dropped with Stage 2. It’s essentially plummeted into the floor. The best example of which is on a recent Youtube video by BlameTheController that I cannot link here due to new forum rules/setup.
yea. you’re right actually. Mercy’s pickrate is WAAAAY WAAAAAY WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY higher in normal matchmaking.
So, maybe it’s time to stop with this argument?

Even if it outright reduced SR gains, it would still be done because it was viewed as a winning strat, and no matter what, a win is still a win, which is always better than a loss.
Either way, I never said it was OP. I just said that it was strong. She’s always been focused around her Res, which by itself is undeniably a strong ability. Now that they finally worked Mercy into someone who’s focused around healing with a Res on the side (which I believe they intended for her from the beginning) even though she’s still useful as a healer people just can’t handle her not being a Res bot anymore.

I would say yes as I see Mercy being played pretty consistently in Diamond. She’s by no means useless and she’s not overpowered like before
Have you not noticed that they play Mercy in specific comps? She’s situational now has has her own strengths in specific comps that no other hero has.
Stop trying to pretend that nothing about pro games can be transferred to pub games. A hero wouldn’t be used at all if they were bad in the pro scene.
I don’t know why I would play Mercy when I could play Moira for a higher hps on multiple targets and a chance for higher burst healing as well as self defense and independent mobility. Also coalescence is far better than valk don’t even try lol

When was Mercy ever useless? She has been the center of attention every season.
Mercy was useless back when Ana was introduced and triple tank was meta. People felt Mercy was a troll pick since she couldn’t match Ana’s burst healing and Resurrect was unnecessary since no one ever died.

Considering, as far as I’m aware, Mercy’s healing power has literally never been a subject of change since launch, I feel like this says more about Moira’s power than it does Mercy’s.
Fair point with triple tank but when recently? That was in season 3. It’s about to be season 9. The mercy is useless discussion hasn’t been a thing for a very long time.
She only became the center of attention post rework, I dunno how good my memory is but during Season 3 she was nowhere near the spotlight and thought to be unnecessary then.

After Ana got nerfed into oblivion, Mercy, Lucio and Zen were all we had. Mercy gave the best healing but Lucio and Zen ran the dive meta.
Mercy was always just Mercy, a solid option with Resurrect for extra spiciness, but Lucio and Zen were far more useful with discord and speed boost. Then the Valkyrie rework happened and she became the most stupidly OP character OW has seen, a few nerfs later and now Mercy is pretty much flatlined. Her gameplay has no spark or spice to it after the reworks. That’s really the only thing that matters to me.

She has generally been the most picked hero for a very very long time before the rework. I wouldn’t call that useless. Yes, S3 she was pretty dead but still, I’ve never heard of people calling her useless. I guess with Moira now being a strong healer and Mercy going through an identity crisis people could freak out but she still isn’t and never was entirely useless.

Anyone that has argued that Mercy is useless probably has no idea what they’re talking about, or they are a QP hero.
Mercy still has use.
The only real argument Mercy mains have rn is that it doesn’t “feel” good. That’s subjective af, and not really grounds for an argument, but worth considering nonetheless.
