im no ml7 its pretty tough i miss as much as i hit him and i have no follow though once slept him teammates did enough to wake him so he can upper cut and kil me and get out, everyone was so busy to avoid him from hog to echo.

I got it. But walking off a clearly defined map ledge, and appearing out of nowhere off a roof aren’t really fully analogous.
Especially since Reaper retreat range is a ton shorter than Doom.
Not to mention the difficulty of Reaper sneaking into your backline with a giant whirling blackcloud is a lot more difficult than flying over a rooftop.
You forget that Reaper has a more reliable weapons + healing with each shot
I don’t see how that’s relevant in fights where your victim isn’t even aware you were there before there they are getting uppercutted to death, followed up tempbarrier and a hasty retreat.

No it’s not. His attacks go through barriers and if he’s landing on a vulnerable target, they probably aren’t huddled behind a barrier. And certainly aren’t once they get popped up into the air.

Combine with lack of range and a reliable weapon, he deserves to be able to get his kills, which includes the CC behind them, cause if his CC was even worse, he would be a worse pick than he already is, if not a throw pick
He is loud, and he has the initial sound cue of Slam when its activated, that gives you room to know he is near
Like I said above, I got no problems with Doom doing what Doom does.
I just think the sound queues should be more obvious when he’s incoming.
He needs buff though

That’s another thing about my general approach to being on the forums, what I want is the game to have a healthy playerbase size, and to make as many heroes as possible be viable at the same time.
Unlike a lot of people on the “Doom is OP”, I mostly just want him to be viable, but not unnecessarily frustrating to play against.
Doom though, similar to Mei, causes a lot of frustration because his counterplay design being kinda off.
This video is kinda long, but it goes over a process of elimination on why Mei and Doom are “problematic CC heroes”.
For instance, Roadhog is a CC hero that combos people to a near instakill, but he’s a lot less frustrating to play against.
He can actually insta kill just about every non tank
