Smurfing is fun and is definitely A-OK

It’s not cool, but it’s allowed (as long as they don’t throw in an obvious way) and some people find it a lot of fun. They can play the game however they like as long as they’re adhering to the rules.

Overwatch is a random casual circus, smurfs/throwers/etc are part of the chaos, and that’s what makes it fun

Smurfing is fine as long as the smurfee isn’t purposely throwing matches. I’ve encountered several people with the “this is my alt account so I’m not going to try” mindset.

Yeah its actually amazing how many gold/play/diamond players tell GM/t500 smurfs that they don’t understand the game at all. Most fun part is when I tell them I’m mostly playing around top 500 level. Most of them simply call me a liar, because they’re too afraid to admit they’ve made mistakes which loses us the game.

You’re a Plat on Xbox LMAO

It’s sort of funny, instead of learning how to get better by watching what the smurfs do, or using the experience to learn what you need to know how to beat them, you just complain and whine about it, pathetic.

You dont need game sense to know that widow soloing entire team in silver is a smurf.

I don’t play console, but I can certainly understand how having access to free and unlimited alt accounts can result in a disaster. That sorta falls under the umbrella of what I mentioned earlier when I said:

At the end of all, i still don’t feel like alt accounts are the issue. It truly is the bad behavior and abuse of them that leads to the issues we encounter. I can’t deny it enables bad behavior to a degree, though. :frowning:

I think smurfs are overrated because I seem to lose almost 100% of the time I get them on my team. At least the ones who claim to be smurfs.

The arguments the casuals are coming up with is getting more and more out of hand. “You have an advantage because you play smarter”, it all boils down to. It’s actually pretty funny.

So smarter people aren’t allowed to play, in their books, “because it’s unfair”.

Could you imagine it put into another context, like if you’re a pro chess player, you’re not allowed to play other chess-like board game, as you have an “advantage”.

Or how about if you’re more athletic, you’re not allowed to play this sport, because the general mass is unfit compared. How silly is that?

Where are comments like this comming from? Literally millions of people all around the world are playing “these type of team games”.

People really don’t understand smurfing at all. I can’t just play at the same level of play at gold/plat and expect to stay there…Blizzard detects you belong higher QUICKLY and starts giving you 80sr/win and -20sr/loss. Impossible to avoid climbing if you’re smurfing and playing at same level.

Most people refer to ‘Smurfs’ as people whi intentionally throw to stay low and ‘Alts’ as people whi have a 2nd account to play/learn a new hero
Though I’ve just always referred to both as smurfs…

Depending on the day and alt can be a smurf or a smurf can be an alt.

Damn son!!! Harsh.

I’m fine against the smurfs who are soloque-ing, but not the ones who boost their teammates and for as long as they don’t throw games.

people play with smurfs on a more regular basis than they think anyway. its a team game, gm dpses dont just randomly kill people without being given space. gm tanks can provide all the space there is but if their dpses dont follow up it dont mean anything. gm healers can heal all they want but if the tank doesn’t give space for the dps all the healing is for naught.

Lol masters isn’t a joke also I knew you’re GM I just thought it was funny that your ranks were so different. But yeah I also know that you’ll get placed low if you do placements with lower rank players on a new account haha
