I am not a fan of Unranked to GM unless it’s educational like ML7 or Awkward, but unranked to GM is not smurfing. It would be if they weren’t deliberately trying to go up in rank. Which they do very quickly. I think I was watching an educational Ana one were the final placements put her in Diamond or something. So I don’t really think the Unranked to GM thing really fits this debate.
But smurfs throwing matches to derank so they can grief lower rank players and get easy competitive point wins? Yeah they need to just be banned or hung by their b@!|$ out an open window. Either or I’m cool.
Not that I’ve been aware of them. If I get my butt kicked I usually just assume I suck.
Although their was this one enemy Rein who was destroying our team and I was pretty sure he was a smurf.
He pinned me to a wall with charge and I may have screamed ‘Harder Daddy’. I don’t know why but they started losing after that. I think I killed his soul. I didn’t mean to. Ignore the last bit I got off topic.

Most “smurfs” are actually alt accounts playing within 0-300 sr of their actual rank lol
Y’all think low level acct = smurf
but a smurf is someone who purposely remains at lower ranks by throwing and they can be any level.
I’ve seen people with gold/plat borders who have thrown all the way down from GM to silver…

I addressed this in my post. If you have an alt account that’s the same rank, you literally don’t need that alt account. Those people aren’t even considered smurfs.
However, there is a smurf in this thread who admitted to playing in Plat as a GM player.

I dont even agree with unranked to GM, i dint care if they are trying to make educational videos, they can do that woth custom games, because every game they play untill they reach GM is ruin, the fairness of each of thpse games are gone

True, I have been called smurf before and this account is like… much higher than my main lol
My main is a hard stuck 2.8-3.2 meanwhile I’ve climbed so much on this one… on my main I can’t even get a good match, I kid you not, not sure if it’s because she is a silver boarder, or because my MMR sucks from when I sucked game who knows lol
Last time I tried to match the SR of this account I lost 5 games in a row and just logged off and don’t play comp on it anymore, it’s just my QP acct now lol

I think there is a worse problem in lower ranks than the odd GM player here and there.
In mid/low silver this is where you begin to meet groups, or a stacks who are throwing down to broze, whether they be real players in a group, or a 6 stack of bots.
It’s an actual business, and once the accounts are low enough they are sold on to others who smurf, or do “bronze to GM”
and you see, none of the streamers who do “bronze to GM” have ever been punished for obtaining one of those Russian or Chinese accounts.

Idk, why does it look like this for you. My only goal is to change the mindset of this forum towards their ingame approach. I’ve coached a lot of ppl how to beat tilt and game itself, not even talking about smurfs. That is just sad to read ppl have issues when resolving lays at surface. They are hypocrite usually, they think game “owes” them, but they don’t want to do anything for this game to make it work for them, this behaviour I despise, cause man should be a man, not a girl with complains about everything which makes difficulties.
