To be fair, Spike does wear a similar jacket in the show a few times (in the last few episodes, I think). So it wasn’t completely made up. And the hat? It does spontaneously appear whenever Cassidy does something that requires a hat (emotes, highlight intros, victory poses). Its design is based on the hat that Andy (the cowboy that looks a lot like Spike) gives him at the end of an episode.
