Skill elitsts and reworks are killing this game

Try doing that for Tracer and come back and see if you can still say the same

Imagine spending 500 hours on honing your hIgH SkIlL cEiLInG of jumping around spastically while right clicking and getting a free Swift Strike refresh whenever something you have previously sneezed at in the last three hours dies, or farming ult off tanks from afar all day at close to zero personal risk, creating a football field sized deflect hitbox whenever someone actually manages to hit you, which is hard not because of your personal skill, but because your hero enjoys tiny hitboxes and a vertically janky third person double jump animation that is way smoother from first person view so it doesn’t disturb your aim as much as it disturbs theirs, then being killed by a hero that needs to balance her team’s need for healing with her own self-healing and damage dealing because you chose to engage at a time when your team wasn’t in a position to apply enough pressure to force her to stop dealing damage and concentrate on healing her tanks instead, and then complaining on the forums about it. Just imagine.

I don’t know numbers but my aim is TERRIBLE (that’s why I’m a mercy main, no shame in that) yet tracking and killing either a Genji or Tracer with Moira is no problem for me.

It’s because the concept of lockon has meaning in video games for things that can attach/detach. The term softlock on Moira is massively misused because of the animation used by the beam.

They reworked torb and sym because they were too niche and it was unfair to the people who mained them because they were considered throw heroes

They reworked dva because she was literally useless at long range

They reworked hanzo because he was also garbage

Plz don’t gif ideas… blizzard already has hearthstone, we don’t need an OW variant.

By removing what made those heroes attractive for those players.

Not really. Torb only lost what, his armor pack? And now he has permanent 50 armor. His turret was 100% buffed and he can still be played the same. Just now he is better and doesn’t need to rely on his turret.

Sym’s whole kit was complete garbage and although sym was completely changed, her old mains still played her. She can still also be played the same, albeit not as effective. And similar to torb, she doesn’t rely on turrets

It’s been proven Moira has a massive hitbox making it essentially a soft lock ability.

I know people like to argue semantics and technicalities but when your beam ablity has a massive hitbox it effectively turns into a soft lock.

But here, I’ll please the people who are wrapped up in semantics:

How long until Moira’s biotic grasp hitbox is reduced immensely? *

That was his unique part: relying on turret and helping team with armor packs. Just like Symmetra’s unique part was her team-supporting ults.

There are players, who don’t like to be directly involved in action, like myself.

And I’d even make the contention that she’s worse in tournament level play right now. Sure, she’s performing better now, but it’s an insult to the intelligence to say that pro teams ever tried to figure her out. They don’t know what they missed.

No, many of them don’t. There was a comment thread on an old Sym highlight on reddit the other day that was a bunch of people saying, “I quit after the rework.”

Blizz is the one with access to the numbers, but I’m pretty sure OW lost players overall because of it.

He can still play that way. And since molten core is also a defensive-utility ult, he didn’t lose much. And there are still heroes like that (mercy, mei, orisa, junk, or even sombra).

Sym can even play more defensively because she can now be COMPLETELY in the back because of the turret change.

And? she still has mains now. They quit because they didn’t want to learn a new hero. Same thing with the people who left after mercy’s rework

I like to think that if I was a skill elitist, I would be raging hilariously at McCree’s current state (I’ll give you a hint; he’s a throwpick). Anyway:

As if “lock on” aint generic. You hold a button and it causes damage. Not hard to figure out.

For those who will respond to this with “But there’s more to lock ons than that”
Yes, there is. But OP here hilariously called Junkrat a “budget ground pharah.” So this is gonna be the kind of oversimplification we’re gonna deal with.

Sym and JR’s changes were buffs. And the uniqueness of these two weren’t removed except for Sym having two ults (but of course your first complaint is the LMB change )

Dva’s 4 second DM was broken.

And Torb being turned to a “generic projectile hero” is flat out wrong. He still has his turret, and if anything, is actually buffed; it just so happens he can actually do things beyond camping near the turret.

Only heroes one would be concerned about when it comes to this would be Mei, Brig, and Bastion.

Bastion because he is hilariously low tier. Brig and Mei simply because a lot of people (read: way more than the “skill elitists”) hate these two.
