With that out the way can I just say that this doesn’t surprise me in the slightest, she’s always been the ginger stepchild of the roster and the only reason she was at all relevant in contenders was as a Doomfist counter that ended up getting swapped out more often than not.
Now that Doomfist has been gimped she no longer has that little niche that made her relevant in pro play and she’s back to being ignored because everyone else is just plain better than her.
Of course the goalposts will move against her again, so she’s gonna remain stuck at the bottom for another year or so.
No it’s not. Check your OW meta history before trying to correct someone who knows more than you do. Tank meta is triple tank/quad tank meta that includes only 2 supports. Goats is 3 supports + triple tank or two tanks + 1 dps.
Just cause you didn’t say “she’s bad only cause it’s mercy meta” doesn’t mean others haven’t. I’ve been on forums/reddit/following the pro scene and playing master+ since around sombra’s release. She was released during tank meta so people were saying “she is going to kill tank meta” because of hack. So because it didn’t happen instead it turned into “Oh she just can’t do well against so many thicc targets it’s not her meta”. Tank meta came to a close due to other factors.
Dive came into the picture. Everyone kept screaming “sombra is really good against dive cause hack!” nope. Just was a 2cp bot and that took months to figure out. Everyone complained about her lack of dmg in comparison to genji/tracer to play her anywhere else and deemed it not her meta.
Then 2.0 mercy meta – plenty of pros kept saying how mercy is too good against sombra so it’s not sombra’s meta. You can probably find some video on youtube with a pro saying it if you want so much proof. And well we all know when a pro says something it’s taken as holy gospel and is echoed on the forums.
Yeah I did won an argument because I know this game.
Simply put Sombra’s problem is she either really good or almost useless.
She isn’t really good unless she’s played around, or the sombra player is just up better than her opponents. Oh and the meta has to be in her favor.
They are kind of between a rock and a hard place with her, and they’ve back themselves even further into a wall with perma invisibility.
She needs a damage buff of some kind in some way that encourages her to hack and get kills on the person hacked or some kind of tag that’s strictly for her damage boost.
But again, if she can sneak up hack, or damage boost and solo kill a target then retreat…yeah nerf city.
Maybe she can have different hacks /damage/utility/health all of them on the same cooldown with a slightly shorter duration and a slightly shorter cooldown.
Even when playing Sombra it’s almost always better to shoot than to waste time hacking. I’ve been finding that the only time hack is useful is when your team is afraid to shoot because they have an enemy Rein… Or if an enemy dives your team AND ISN’T SHOOTING YOU.
She’s pretty much what you’d get when you take Tracer and remove her blinks and high base move speed.
You are again making up stuff dude.
Dont argue semantics, dont act like i didnt bust you out and no, you dont know more than me.
Its a type of tank meta, ANYTHING that is based on having more than 2 tanks and on high HP characters is a Tank meta. Just because there was a Quad tank meta, it doesnt mean that it is not a tank meta.
Its basic logic, if you fail at that, then i understand the rest of your comment pal.
Junkrat gets tons of value in the dregs
pharah gets tons of value in the dregs
If a widowmaker player can breach her skill floor they can get headshots and get instant value and do it from relative safety
Most of the time in lower elo if you pick sombra your team will immediately throw and blame you for everything.
Sombra I think is one of the biggest feast or famine heroes in this game. You dont really feed on her a lot due to translocate but its pretty damn easy to be worthless on her.
If you are sub 2000 getting work done as a sombra you are probably a smurf let’s be honest.
What I was indicating should have read in past tense - my point was Brig clearly needed nerfs, and the pro community had many people who complained about her. That was my point, and it was true, many pros did consider Brig ridiculously OP. I believe personally she is in a pretty good balance state currently, and no longer feel dirty playing her.
Ah no, it was not about Sombra… not sure where you got that idea. I possibly posted in the wrong forum I was switching between threads when I wrote that.
I personally love Sombra in her current form, it’s what I always thought she should be.
The “ability to win fights before they start” can be applied to heroes on half the roster, Sombra’s EMP isn’t a “we win” button.
“hack was good enough to replace genji, it made it to where targets couldn’t defend themselves at all” Anyone can tell you hack doesn’t work like that, hell for some (like soldier) being hacked mid-fight really doesn’t do anything because hack wears before cooldowns are back up… This is why people say it’s usually better to just shoot at something rather than hack.
As far as “yes. LITERALLY.” replacing Genji, she’s a totally different hero with no mobility or survivability mid fight (unless she teleports away). She and Genji play totally different.
If you’re going to talk about her, atleast learn what she’s capable of. Stop Regurgitating what some random guy says and learn about the game so you can think for yourself.
Are you really trying to say no other hero has the ability to use their ult and win the fight before it starts? You’re also trying to say your vid proves it?
Sorry, but you’re full of crap. A cherry picked video doesn’t mean:
-Sombra has a “we win” ult
-Hack makes targets unable to defend themselves
-Sombra easily replaces Genji
