Boosting is an issue for sure, and could it explain this situation? Sure. This is just one, of a few, EXTREME situations, SUPER extreme, that for all intents and purposes only has value when used as consideration to temper oneās own position.
I donāt consider any of you as unreasonable. Itās clear there are people moving from elo to elo on the back of Brigitte from Bronze -> Masters. While we can dismiss these extreme examples in many ways, such as boosting, it doesnāt discredit their is a trend of people who have not improved in any significant way climbing the ladder on the back of this hero.
Itās unfortunate how much people personally identify with their arguments, to the point where they seem to be inconsiderate to the nuances of the situation. I am convinced, if given the right set of circumstances, and if I am on top of my game, that you would all be very reasonable, and we could explore these nuances.
Getting caught up in these sort of tangent like minute elements of what is going on only goes to divide us and dilute the clarity of our perspective on the situation.
I guess what I am saying is be humble, be considerate, be open minded, and donāt assume everyone is just out to contradict or invalidate you. There is so much to consider, and we canāt excuse things that encourage us to dismiss elements of the situation simply on the fact they do not fit our narrativeā¦

Show me a single player that managed to get from Silver to GM/T500 this season using Brigitte - just one. Honestly Iām calling bs on your rant.
In addition if you really think that Brigitte is that powerful feel free to play her and rise to that SR yourself.
When I check the Brigitte stats on Overbuffed it looks like they are on pretty normal level. Her pick rate dropped consistently. Her win rate in GM is not higher than that of other characters.
What happened over the last view weeks pretty much is that players adjusted their approaches in how they are dealing with her and now they can win against Brigitte more easily.
Of course if you want to play Tracer against Brigitte, you will have a horrible time, but there are a lot of other characters to play and you just need to adjust.

Nah man, the stats do not show her as being normal. At all.
Thatās not to say her pick rate hasnāt dropped, or that GM hasnāt adapted, or anything like that. All Iām saying is using ānormalā to describe her in any way is pretty inaccurate.
And tbh I have a good time playing Tracer into a Brigitte. That is when I donāt care about winning the game/the objective. Like in QP. Itās actually really fun. And seriously, people have adapted. Zarya/Zen main this season btw. Look at GM, thatās a hard adaption to Brigitte right there. People have adapted, saying they havenāt is just a desperate attempt to excuse her pubstoming in Bronze ā Masters.
Nothing to do with low skill vs high skill. Brigitte is just arguably OP. Doesnāt matter how difficult she is to use.

I listed the channels on the post where you can find it for yourself, as naming and shaming is against the ToS, stop trying to bait people into getting themselves banned. But as i can see someone already gave you your example, and thatās one of many twitch clips that includes other worse examples like silver to T500.
Yup, if i see S2 plat in GM i know i cant expect anything unless that player plays that hero which got him/her there.
Its pretty sad, SR should be some general skill, game sense and stuff. SR shouldnt be because of one hero.
If you can play one hero at GM and every other at plat, you are plat, sorry.
This is no hate at all, its from my experience, i played through every single season and there was ALWAYS problem with players who jumped 1000 SR because of the broken hero.
Pretty much what is happening - player is extremely underperfoming at midmaster, i check his profile and he was plat in S2, every.single.time.
Thats why we need hard reset because SR is really messed up through all the seasons now.
But hooray! Profiles will be hidden, what a good choice for competitive enviroment /s

I think I would rather a hard reset when they make screwed up heroes that jump dramatically in SR, once they fix it, a hard RESET is 100% preferable to the past of what happened with mercy on Jan 30th to Feb 10th, and it extended further than that but it wasnāt so common after then because all those falling mercys stabilized out and it was comp as per normal again.
And with the jumps in SR being way bigger than the broken mercy jump, itās going to be a much longer ruined competitive state making a wave through the ranks from GM at first which will clear up, to masters which will take longer, diamond will have this problem arguably the longest, platinum isnāt too far behind, and it should stabilize out around gold but if last time is anything to go by, we could be looking at competitive having double the time where itās coinflip to who gets the worse one that climbed up loses and they are always so toxic because, it must be triggering falling like a rock.
So yeah, a hard reset is preferable to that issue coming up. I feel you there.

Yeah I got that and as I said it take maybe a hour or so at max to totally grasp how her kit interact with your own fav heroes and everyone else on the roaster. Everyone past wood tier SR ranges knows how to counter her and what a person/team needs to do. We knew with in a few hours of her being on the PTR.
Yet the reason why players can/have shot up +1 or +2 tiers one tricking her is as I said, the high skill players have to get it right every time, Brigitte only has to get it right once.
She mindlessly throws her near zero counter play stun on a cool down so short itās near pointless to call it out. Sooner or later the trash player will āscoreā an ULT cancel or stop a key ability and if not they are still stun locking out players left and right.
Thatās enough to win a game in many cases.
She was a horrible add to the game being itās the first hero that is better by making everyone else worse. Like mercy was āwe need a mercyā it wasnāt āDonāt play these 19+ heroes being they hardly work when the other team has a Mercyā.
Thatās the real problem with Brigitte.
I still think we will see her get a nerf bat after the OWL season is over being player numbers are going to drop unless something is done to allow players to play more than 7-8 heroes to any real impact.
and season 5.
And it was bad, very bad.
When Mercy was asked to switched she threw the game because she couldnāt play other heroes.

youāre not very bright if you donāt understand hanzo (a sniper) isnāt one of her BEST counters and that sheās part of the reason heās so highly picked now
thats the big issue, she gives you 5 heroes to play (and donāt tell me, bc Iāve got 100h on tracer, that she couters tracer) I can verry good play around her as tracer thats not the problem. But my problem is with the small amount of viable heroes, or effective heroes against her.
I usualy stick with tracer and give her my bombs, but itās not as fast as just playing junkrat or phara and Spamming the hell out of her, so she canāt even leave spawn. But Sorry, Itās not really funny to me to play one of those two just to keep Brigitte in Spawn.
I prefere to outplay her as her Weakest hero. IT gives me pride and motivates me to further improve.
And the worst part is, Snipers are the best heroes you could posibly pick, So I enter a game, and hanzo is selected, now I take as second dps, widowmaker. Nobody should be suprised about this. But somehow they are, atlest in my games.
Show me how you one trick her to GM then.

Imagine defending S2-S9 Silvers being GM+ One trick Brigittes in S10.

OP is right though, I noticed a lot of Brig one tricks climbing many ranks in one season, when you look at their profile they played other things than Brig and one tricked her to higher ranks.
Its pretty obvious that a character made as a tank healer hybrid being used by pros as a DPS needs to have her kit retuned.
Any proof of genuinely ranked silvers (who arenāt de-ranked or smurfs, and are solo queueing solely as Brigitte), who were silver either this season or last season, suddenly climbing to GM/Top 500? I donāt see any reference thatās pointing to proof in the main post.
The only things I agree on about Brigitte at the moment, as a perspective of both playing as and playing against her, are the following:
- Brigitteās shield bash will not penetrate an enemy shield barrier but instead knock it back and damage it (excluding Symmetraās ultimate on PTR, which will just damage it)
- Brigitteās shield bash will not stun an opponent from the front thatās holding up a shield barrier, such as Reinhardt, but will instead knock them back slightly and damage the shield barrier
- Brigitteās ultimate will deliver extra armor slightly faster but decay after the ultimate has finished
