The whole game is rock, paper, scissors. You pick a hero, they counterpick, you counterpick them.
genji “my shurikans are lazers” is the last person who should be complaining about projectile logic.
It’s a big object…they didn’t think it was right to be able to “absorb” it…josh was talking about it with seagull yesterday…thing is lik the size of torb
When did I say that.
Every other projectile in the game is either in a way “magic” or matter, thats quite light if its a large projectile, fire, grav is just matter, etc. Sigma is throwing a bloody boulder, genjis blade would break in half if it tried to deflect that, and dva’s defence matrix isnt as strong as a piece of ground, you cant eat the ground with dva so you shouldnt be able to eat it if its in the air either.
I imagine it behaves this way for balance, the move is very much telegraphed and the rock is huge so it’s already easy enough to avoid(not to mention it makes sigma vulnerable while casting), making it deflectable or dm would make the ability next to useless or completely detrimental and if they were to buff it so it wasn’t as telegraphed then it’d be pretty damn powerful perhaps too powerful
Then… good aim on the Sigma’s part? I mean, just as much as the ability isn’t supposed to 100% hit, it also isn’t supposed to 100% miss. I don’t really get this line at all but I did chuckle. This logic applies to every single aimed attack in the game.
With 400 health and some pretty dicey damage, a lot of heroes – especially mobile ones – will probably have an easy time putting pressure on him. I can already imagine Tracer winning a lot of duels against Sigma, he’s a huge target with some good defenses that Tracer can dance around, and all of his attacks are so precise that Tracer will be hard to strike down. Heroes with some solid escapes, like Genji and Sombra, will probably also see good success against him. And I doubt supports will really be troubled by him, he can’t exactly hunt out his own battles.
The dude has no mobility and attacks extremely slowly. He has a lot of potential from what I can see but the counterplay can definitely be noticed. I don’t really think Sigma is going to really hard counter much of anything, or make anyone have to swap just to address him. He feels a lot like D.va in this regard, where a lot of heroes just need their own personal rhythms and routines for getting around him.
Well if it’s not deflectable or DM’able, since it’s so huge, it is easier to hit to let’s say a fire strike. Fire strike doesn’t stun though.
Fire strike is also on a 6 second cooldown and does 20 more damage.
It only has cc elements from a distance. When you stuff it in someone’s face it only does damage

So should rock do more damage then? I don’t see what you’re getting at here.
No. Just telling you not to complain about something you can easily see coming and avoid.
The size also makes it prone to hit the the environment or shields or in other words it’s difficult to be precise with it and yes also would make deflecting or dming it a breeze
Fire strike also penetrates shields and enemies
So what if you’re Zenyatta, one of the slowest heroes in the game with 200 hp to survive off of.
You move to the side? Rock is slower than Zen.
Well make deflecting it, or DM’ing it negate the stun EFFECT, a good balance between doing damage but no stuns.
sigmas rock is like doomfist, it’s a flying huge thing, would you eat doomfist too?
Rock is faster than Zenyatta. Do you do research or no, have you played the hero?
Hmmm… I’ll have to think a bit and come back to you later.
