Should Storm Arrow be able to headshot?

His arrow are the same size but they are faster. So if you could hit shots before they are easier and better at range now. Also there are 6 of them with a pretty high fire rate.

Soldier’s bullets go from 19 to 25ish. While Hanzo’s arrows go from 160 to 208. Soldier is sustained damage while Hanzo is a big burst. You can escape sustained damage.

and it’s still a -combo- you cant go a whole game with nothing but this combo either. it would hinder the team. the argument of boosted hanzo is no better than boosted junk.

Picks are still one of the most powerful things in this game. You don’t need to do this the whole game. Just near the beginning of team fights. He would still be able to do that fine. Just making it slightly more difficult.

it’s either damage boost or healing with mercy. if you dont heal, hanzo is even more of a glass cannon. it’s not that hard to kill him. if you want to live, stay behind a shield.

Hanzo is also pretty good at shield break. It does 480 with nothing. Up to 624 with just Mercy. Also there aren’t shields up 24/7. Diving Hanzo is easier said then done with his lunge and damage. He can get out of Winstns range on a 4 sec cooldown while Winstons is 6. Also if you dive a Mercy Hanzo he can kill a Winston with just storm arrow.

Putting a shield down is not gonna stop Hanzo from jumping through it and theres tons of other things that can easily break her shield so Hanzo doesn’t have to try and push her anyways. Fortify isn’t going to save her life with all those Arrows hitting her and only 2-3 of them need to headshot her to finish her off.

Next.

While you cannot headshot a barrier, Zarya’s barrier only has 200 HP and it has a 2 sec duration while Storm Arrow has a 6 sec duration. It takes him 3 arrows to punch through the barrier if he opts to the brute force method. It also takes him 3 headshots to pop Zarya. So he can wait for the barrier to drop, or brute force it. either way if the Hanzo is good enough the Zarya will die.

That’s if the Zarya is stupid. If the Zarya is good, and paying attention. Plus, the games sounds aren’t muffling the storm arrow sound effect. The Zarya will wait till she gets hit by two arrows and activate her barrier. While she grenades him out of position. If she’s on cool down. She can still dodge out of the way. After the first sniper hit alert.

it still takes skill to do any of those things. there’s actual counterplay on both sides now and no longer a one-sided free kill that causes your team to blame you for a loss…

How does spamming a bunch of arrows at medium range that nearly instantly hit someone with hardly any travel time take skill? There’s hardly any aim in that scenario other than looking a little bit ahead of the direction they’re strafing.

Can we go ahead and apply this to Fan the Hammer then?

headshots. and unless you’re standing still or just running in one direction, it is absolutely easy to dodge…

So I guess any hitscan doesn’t take skill then either?

So here’s your logic applied to something else in OW, such as Brigitte due to her being the “new it” thing. If they replaced shield bash with an even better version of it, less cool-down and more damage, you’re saying you can’t complain about it because they wanted the change in the first place? That’s not how this works; Blizzard has shown time and time again they don’t listen to the community, and even if they do what they change typically turns out worse (either over-buffed or over-nerfed) than it originally was.

they’ve shown they do listen. they removed scatter based on listening. even said so. they just didnt make hanzo a joke character.

Then they didn’t listen well. People weren’t complaining about Scatter arrow because of its sense of RNG and complete randomness, they were complaining about its ridiculous burst damage. So now they replaced it with an ability that although doesn’t deal as much instant damage, has a much smaller cool-down, an extremely larger damage potential, and a greater ability to be spammed.

is it harder to hit those headshots or to stand still like a beacon with the hitbox the size of Canis majoris???

Storm arrow is pretty unbalanced, this is an evidence, but I think that headshot it’s ok. They should only lower the damage to 60 and make him shooting all the arrow consecutively after pressing E. The real problem isn’t the potential burst but in fact that he can manage it. A sniper should NEVER have a mid/low range so flexible ability.
