The bots on OW play better than my loser queue teammates.
The joke is on you, they already have bots in the OW games… I guess people don’t understand how good AI is now. The bots in MR even shoot and use sprays in spawn and break stuff to appear like humans.

OW has player made bots in games made for deranking and being sold off to smurfs.
MR intentionally put bots in the game to make it seem like you’re better than what you are and instill a dopamine burst after losing a few games.
Both games got their lame issues.

Wasn’t that a video of an aimbotter multi-boxing. So not dev bots but player bots.
Seen AI Jeff terrorizing actual players in a AI match. Was just hilarious to see

You’d be surprised. The AI is actually pretty good about healing people up, moving as a group, targeting the best performing players with precision. I would say they actually perform better than a great deal of human players.
No, I’ve seen it in all my games. There are at least 2 bots in every game. Their names are like DanLanten and CalRodgers stuff like that… then just watch them.

Eh, idk, it’s not like we can win forever. It’s inevitable you get a bad game. Even top 500 players get upset and flame their team mates who are also top 500 and call them bots. Plus qp is very wide on the skill pool anyway. I have had matches in qp with players in both GM and Silver. The mode is obviously prioritizing queue times, and I win or lose those games sometimes.
Obviously hard mode or higher level bots will essentially have auto aim which would perform better than average humans, but there’s no guarantee what bots we have on teams would behave better. OW2 has a lot of versions but I guess they would use the basic old ones if they did.
But the issue isn’t that our team mates are better or worse than bots, it’s really about the players we’re facing against. Once you’re fighting with bot team mates, we must be facing them too as both teams would have it in this case. So, it’s hard to say if your team mates improved when it’s really just the thing you face is easier to handle. For me, it’s not a great gaming experience facing predictable non-humans who follow the same path all the time.
Yea, you can often outsmart bots because you find their path and can just camp them

What is so annoying is that these companies do these things and openly lie about it to their customers and will sit there with a straight face and smile and tell you “Nah we don’t do that”. Then they are disproved and come out with some pathetic reason why they lied or they ignore the fact they lied and make it like they just recently added them to the game.

Yeah there is a whole debate about that, and yeah i feel like i’m wasting my time doing those, i don’t care too much about the wins anyway, i’d be in Vs AI if i wanted that experience, and as you said there is the whole problem of it teaching people bad habits.
But i get it QP is the very casual mode, and being stomped on 10 times in a row isn’t very fun to people just wanting to play their favorite hero, so yeah give them an easy win, it’s whatever, the bots are still better than the AI in OW so at least there is that, it doesn’t feel as fake as an AI match does in this game.
I still think it should include players on both teams and some bots.
I don’t know if its 2 games or however many, but I have absolutely played in bot lobbies in qp, albeit, rarely.
They are always the entire team, consisting of 2 tanks, 2 dps, 2 heals.
They will sometimes have a black widow (dead give away) and will get maybe 1-2 kills an entire match, but the kill cam will show the crunchiest aim you’ve ever seen snap to a head with movement that only would come from a pc with 5fps. They will reliably never type in chat (obviously), and they will never have console icons in their name. They will be the game where you go 30-1, with the one death because half your team mates are also bots and they aren’t really healing. They’re straight up free wins… in QP lol.
Like I said, its rare, but when it happens, its noticeable. I’ve gone on long win streaks and long losing streaks when in QP learning a new hero before I do comp on it, and I can count maybe 5 games total, ever, that were bots.
Its the one sticking point I have against rivals but at the end of the day, its QP. Comp is there to take things more seriously.
On the one hand I wouldn’t put it past Netease (plus, there is a significant number of people who actually want that, so it’s not an Illuminati-style conspiracy theory), on the other hand a streamer I watched played their first few games in lobbies that chat called “bot lobbies”, “those are literal bots LULW” etc., but then some 8 year old child started talking in voice chat, so… who knows.
It’s not a novel concept either, Apex does it for your orientation matches, I’m pretty sure. At least that’s the consensus, idk about official confirmation, but my point is rather that it’s not a fringe idea.

It was still a bot lobby. 1 team is entirely bots, and the other is some players and some bots.
It is very much a real thing lol. The kill cams show it plain as day.

In quick match if you lose 2 games you’ll be matched with other people who usually have lost 2 games as well and you will play against a team of bots for that one game. Presumably you win that, then you will be facing live players again.
Doesn’t really affect me, if I do play quick match it’s rare enough that I lose 2 games in a row and the bot game just lets me try out something for an achievement if I can be bothered or, what usually happens, is I help a teammate get an achievement.
Now think about how many times you’ve seen people complain about loss streaks here in OW2, especially the absurd - I’d almost call them impossible - loss streaks that some have had. Would they have preferred a bot match here and there? Maybe.
Some recap and additional info:
- in quick match if you lose 2 to 3 games, you play vs bot team.
- you do not get put on teams with bots (bad connections and potato PCs might look like bots, but they’re not)
- if you look at the bot team’s career profile, it’ll be private for all of them. Players are also able to block their profiles though, so more and more people are starting to.
- you do not get bots in ranked
