Mirrorwatch is one of the best event game modes they’ve ever put out so far in my opinion and it seems I’m not alone - the mode is widely hailed as one of the best ever made - so the natural question is should it be permanent?
Should it be put on rotation in arcade?
With PVE cancelled - modes like this help satiate some of the demand for a totally different Overwatch or a more chilled out mode while still feeling very polished!
Every game mode should be permanent, there’s no good reason to have them be limited time.
Maybe it’ll become a yearly thing like archives used to be.
They could add new edited heroes and skins in later years too.
It would be nice to have a yearly event to look forwards to. One that isn’t a religious holiday, ctf or lucio ball. (Halloween’s the only one i like out of repeating events)
Permanently though? Might go the way of the pve missions if it’s permanently available.
I want Prop Hunt to be permanent.
There’s a good reason in the sense that they don’t want players to be divided between too many different queues but at the same time we already have many different arcade game modes and at the very least they should put this in custom games so people can host games of Mirrorwatch whenever they like heh…
I think part of what makes it feel special is the limited hero selection…
There can be a sense of “choice overload” in the regular game modes…
The thing is, if people don’t want to play the main modes and none of the other modes interest them, they usually just leave the game.
There is a reason, aside form spliting the playerbase.
Its a way to try to preserves the interest in the mode. If you have access to such a mode all the time, the likelihood of it getting uninteresting rises more and more.
Atleast thats probably the Idea the Team has and why they are doing it.
In reality though I do not think that would happen, especially for PvP modes. If its fun and interesting, the players will play it. The game would probably even benefit from it. Imagine Archives would return and be permanent.
The only ones that should be timed are holiday based ones personally
Mirror watch shouldn’t be permanent until they add more heroes into the mode. As of RN people will burn out on the same small roster pool.
I played it a few times and didn’t like how smol the roster pool was as I usually main support and went back to comp ranked
and maybe nerf Mercy a bit. Especially her Soulexplosion.
I agree with leaving this as a permanent mode, but at least once a season add several characters there, otherwise the current pool is very boring and annoying, everyone plays on Mercy because she’s op, each round is no different from the previous one
Is it that the mode is inherently good, or that people like some of the changes? My guess would be the Mercy and Doom changes the most (I like the Brig changes).
The LTE game modes are best being limited time. I love Mirrorwatch, but I would not play it very often if it was permanent. I would like it to be annual though.
