Some of my teams lately have been BAD. Like REALLY, REALLY bad. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes I have an active team in voice chat and we do great. But most games, everyone on my team is completely silent (not even text chat), and they go off solo and get deleted instantly again and again, which usually results in a team wipe. Then this process repeats about 10-15 times and we lose. Like nobody is even able to touch the objective and we just end up locked in the spawn room. And this is in Competitive, in case that matters. It doesn’t really bother me personally, because I’m not the one getting deleted, but I’m not sure how to feel.
Is my MMR so high that everyone on my team just doesn’t stand a chance? Are my teammates bots? Are they throwing on purpose to make me upset? I just don’t get it. Normally if I’m getting stomped, I’ll try some other tactic, switch heroes, whatever. But these people on my team seem deadset on running into that meatgrinder. It’s like watching lemmings. Is anyone else experiencing something similar?
I haven’t played a ton in recent months and I’ve been put on team usually 4-5 divisions (whatever it’s called) below the enemy team. I guess the MM thinks it’s fair since I used to be ranked higher? Diamond 5 vs Master 4. Masters 4 vs GM 5, etc. Not super fair I would think lol.
If your MMR is high relative to your rank, the matchmaker will compensate by pairing you with people who have low MMR relative to their rank and generally, in my experience, the team with the more normalized MMR tends to win because they have a more consistent performance overall. It depends on how good the carry is or how bad the dead weight are, naturally. Add in the 50/50 influence and it is possible you were in an anchor game.

Find the highest ground to look down upon your teammates. Say, “Pathetic,” then carry on like nothing happened. I would normally say leave the game but you get penalized now for doing so.

Lmao. That’s great advice.
If you win a lot on QP the matchmaking tries to do that I guess to even out the playing field. Your mmr will end up too high and it expects you to carry the dead weight of the so called bot players. If your a good player you get punished playing with deadbeats.
I prefer to queue with my friends together to reduce the odds of having this happening.
and when I have 2 teammates with no heals/dps I just switch to the most cheese character like hanzo or sombra to win.
