I’ve always wondered why Bronze is <500-1500sr when every other rank is only 500sr from each other. 
Should low Bronze (<500-1000) be made into a separate rank, maybe like Iron, Steel or something else?
I just think it would be pretty cool to have another rank, I know it’s not really that important at all, but why not?

I think all the ranks should have brackets, similar to Valorant (which has 3 tiers per rank).
If anything, Plat needs to be divided. There is a world of difference between low and high Plat.

I do see your point, perhaps a tighter matchmaker could help, so instead of +/-1000 SR make it 350 or something similar.

No different than gold or silver or Diamond and Masters.
Low masters isn’t the same as mid/high masters/GM.
I think breaking every rank into 3’s and implementing a 3 up/down similar to Valorants would drastically improve match quality for low ranked players.
Mid/high ranked players wouldn’t really see any change simply because of how skill diversity works.
I like the sound of this but… I don’t like the idea of being ‘silver 1’ for eternity. I’m not a number, I am a FREE MAN.

I mean the concept of a “new rank” is one of those things we all think WOW COOL just because it’s fun in concept.
But if you think about whether it actually benefits anything, not really.
It’d require a new graphic and a bit of editing to current ranked menus.
And it would probably require different comp point rewards to bronze, and bronze already gives 25 (like 2 wins from comp worth), so would a new rank really be necessary.
I mean do we need a new rank just so “wood tier” can gain 10 comp points less than bronze lmao.
Having just said that last sentence I decided on yes cus it’s funny.
I like this from a psychological perspective.
3 ranks within the ranks makes your improvements or climb feel noticed.
For example if every 166 SR, you went up a rank, that would feel good and incentivised playing.
Climbing from Gold to Plat takes a long time and for a lot of it it can feel like you aren’t actually making progress.
But at the same time it has the opposite effect when dropping a rank so perhaps splitting each rank in 2 could be more beneficial. Like Plat minus and Plat Plus and gold minus and gold plus…etc
Nah, you could not. Any coach I’ve heard will say the greatest skill difference is in Plat.
1000sr below definally need a seprate rank. There is a clear difference between high bronze and 800sr.
