Roadhog, Reaper and doomfist all have random spread patterns on their primary fires. This randomness is sometimes makes your shots really unreliable. That’s why I think that these three characters should have fixed spread patterns for their weapons (Like in Tf2). It would be an easy fix for characters that way too often feel very inconsistant.
Tell me what you think about it.
Edit: Torb has this problem too.

Having fixed spread patterns would be nice
I am for this. Then players can no longer blame RNG when most of the time the actual problem of them not securing a kill is because of not placing the center of the spread on target properly.
I’ve been posting this for weeks now thank you!
Shotguns would also reward skill over luck.
apparently its also still a thing that e.g. If you shoot 10 pellets and 9 hit the head and 1 the body then it might randomly say it was a bodyshot and does NOT count a headshot multiplier.
This was a big discussion about reaper some weeks ago, correct me if im wrong.
I don’t know for sure but it sometimes does feel like it.
Would this fix, for example, a Reaper shooting at someone’s lower back and getting crits? I mean, like, WTF, you’re better off not aiming 4Head if you want a fast kill.
Each individual pellet can crit so when Reaper shoots at someone’s lower back the randomness can put pellets on the head.
I agree that it’s not fun to die to this because it involves RNG.
Fixed would be cool
I think in TF2 it’s ranked only so let’s not carry over that part lol
Why you forget the torb
But yes fix shotgun spread would be nice, because If I am aiming at a persons chest and score a crit shot that is bs.
Yes it was. Even if they removed RNG from the spread, crits are still RNG.
There’s no such thing as random crits in ow though.
There absolutely is. There was a vid done on it somewhere. Either all of your pellets will crit, or none of them will. It seems to be based on how many pellets hit the crit box.
Well I didn’t know about that, that should be fixed too then.
That’s kind of the nature of shotgun fire though. If you want consistancy then get in real nice and close.
Frankly it’s rare that I have a super weird misfire and I’m willing to bet people are not lining up their shots as well as they think they are so when they see the results of a shot not go their way they assume it was the randomness of the spread rather then the distance and possibility they missed their mark by more then they thought.
In my opinion this is why reaper is sh/t, sometimes you can oneshot someone 10 meters away and sometimes do 20% of dmg, this can be even tested on practice with bots
his dmg is just random.
Well it is, I’ve been really focusing on getting headshots with these kinds of weapons recently with DVa. It really ramps up your damage numbers. Haven’t you ever wondered why you don’t get the crit sound though you did land pellets on the head?
Still a fixed spread wouldn’t hurt the game just had more consistency.
