1.Hanzo joins talon
I think there is still more to see and juice on the brother vs brother plot. As Genji said in the end of Dragons to Hanzo “It is time to pick a side”. He will probably join his brother side at the end tho.
2.Reaper was never evil
I think Reaper might actually aways been good and just went through everything to bring Talon down.
3.Reinhardt dies
I think there will be some casulties through out the story and what worse way to make us cry then killing Rein. I think he might sacrifice himself to protect the team. When we saw the leaked Briggite talents one of them was called “Godfather’s legacy” which gives her his shield.You leave a legacy when you die.Leak might be fake tho.
4.Jetpack cat
Although i do not believe we will get Jetpack cat as a hero i do think that Blizzard will show it in the mission cinematics and we will get our fair share of comedy.
5.Mauga vs Baptiste
I just think it would be epic to see a Talon heavy in a 1v1 against a Support. Just imagine Baptiste hiding while Mauga is all out there firing and searching for him.
And while you think he wont have a chance boom Baptist outsmarts him and wins.(Ok my imagination went nuts time to stop)
6.Hanzo uses his sword again
Would be happy to hear your theories and opinions on the stuff i said. I have a lot more in my head but i think i should chill …
From Sojiros tale what was the narration during the cinematic:
“The stranger revealed himself as his fallen brother. Reunited the two set out to rebuild what they once destroyed” Maybe we could see Genji revealing himself to the Shimada clan and Hanzo being convinced to join OW as the omnics attack Japan?
Baptiste follows Mercy back to OW - Sombra will aid both him and Talon for her own cause.
Reinhardt and Soldier dies
For Rein the same as OP said, for Soldier, i think he will sacrifice himself for someone we have heard before in front of the New OW’s eyes. This will make the reuniting quicker.
Emily will be kidnapped by Talon
There has to be a reason why Emily is still being mentioned and shown after Tracers LGBT reveal. If Tracer is around the world helping to fight against NS and Talon, they have time to capture Emily and maybe even torture her. That way forcing Tracer to give up or only to get more serious from that point.
Hammond joins OW’s side
Hammond is a chaotic neutral currently but we know he was friends with Winston. He could be an engineer or even can silently shut down bigger omnics or Talon networks because who would expect a Torbjörn sized genetically engineered hamster? And we would have a comic relief character in the new Overwatch if they dont show JetCat.
Both are in game interactions you can hear before a match starts. Obviously you’ll need Hanzo and either of the other two heroes to be on the same team. Maybe try it out in a custom game with a friend, or look for them on YouTube.
And maybe they’ll fight. I’m not too familiar with those two’s lore.
I speculate these two are the same character. The weird exoskeleton we see in the Recluse concept is the Junkerqueen’s mech that she became champion with. A dangling body exo-suit mech seems exactly like the type of thing that the Junkers would build and use. It is sufficiently insane.
There is also that big “mouth laser” thing from the Recluse concept which I feel can go 1 of 2 ways.
1 - Its gone.
2 - Its replaced with a more technical device. She is known for speaking over loudspeakers, so make it some kind of device that she speaks or yells into, and it amplifies her voice into a laser. Could fall under the same technical definitions as Lucio and Orisa’s sonic technology.
Anyways, this is my big ambitious Overwatch 2 hero prediction. My other 2 predictions are:
Helix will be the third enemy faction - Enforcing the Petras Act. Also gives an excuse for potential Talon-centric missions in the post-launch. Gives them someone to shoot at.
No heroes will die, because heroes never die. The first time we get a hero death, it will be for some real world problem like the voice actor dying.
Heroes:
Launch heroes-
Junkerqueen, Mauga, Sanjay, Dae-hyun and some new characters.
Post launch heroes- Lynx 17, Kimiko and Mirembe (both were in Ana’s comic and both got the recall message from Winston so maybe they will return?), some Talon members we haven’t met yet, omnic from storm rising, another animal hero, Sven, Emre, new characters.
Lore:
Symmetra discovers the truth about Sanjay/Vishkar and joins Overwatch. (Maybe Lucio is the one who convinces her?)
Hammond joins Overwatch.
Sombra and Sigma leave Talon for Overwatch.
Hanzo joins Overwatch (maybe).
Pharah meets up with Jack and Ana and all 3 come to join Overwatch.
Widowmaker no longer brainwashed (maybe she’ll want to leave talon?)
Zarya softens her views on omnics (like Hanzo i’m not sure yet whether she’ll join Overwatch yet). Maybe reuniting with Lynx 17 and meeting Bastion/Orisa/Echo will change her views?
DVa joins overwatch and Dae-hyun goes with her.
Junkrat/roadhog/junkerqueen and junkers story stays seperate from overwatch and talon.
A character might die but they’ll remain a playable character (no way will they delete a character).
The end of the (launch game’s) story mode will see overwatch find a new permanent base.
Mauga tries to kill Baptiste, Baptiste survives and joins Overwatch.
Orisa joins overwatch.
Zenyatta won’t join Overwatch (at launch anyway, maybe in a post game story update)
After whatever Mccree is up to he will return to Overwatch.
Two playable characters will enter a romantic relationship (no idea who).
Gabrielle Adawe will show up as a NPC.
Vishkar’s secret becomes public knowledge.
We learn more about Sam (Pharah’s father), he won’t be playable though.
And most importantly… we are introduced to jetpack cat!!!
That cat is alive. Its an emote. Consider it appears to be the same breed of cat with the same face, same hair, and same Reinhardt helmet, its most likely intended to be the same cat.
It already is. At least, not the Talon part, but the rest of their shady business dealings. Lucio is an international icon for rebelling against them, and Atlas reported about it again during the events of the Sombra ARG.
I hope they do have their own little plot line, but I think there is still opportunity for cross-over action given that Hammond has ties with the Junkers, Winston has ties to Hammond, Winston and Hammond have ties to the Horizon Lunar Colony which kind of indirectly ties with Sigma, and of course Sigma is tied to Talon.
Talon tries to brainwash hanzo the same way they did with widowmaker, we know that doomfist really want his as an ally, so it’s probably gonna be like that
Mauga goes berserk for baptiste, and doomfist might see more potential than the others recruits, so talon might try to make him a weapon just like sigma
Widowmaker might regain her memories and feelings (but perhaps she will never be reedemed)
Bastion dies.
Yes you heard right, bastion dies protecting torbjorn. His sacrifice might become a simble for being against the racism between omnics.
Symmetra is gonna be a spy for talon and betray overwatch… then she will be redeemed.
Reaper… well, he can’t die, but if talon is defeated, he will go in his own way to get his own justice, like soldier76 and will always be a target for overwatch
Sigma and Moira relationship.
No, not a ship, but they might become closer and trust each others for science
The junkers will probably be a part of the story in their own way. Perhaps like a “guardian of the galaxy” in the mcu
Baptiste and Mauga battle will be violent and brutal. Innocent people might get involved too and give overwatch a bad name on the news… again
Storm rising omnic looking guy is the real villain of the game, after accepting doomfist’s deal, he betrays talon and decides to improve the world for humans and omnics… by destroying it.
Null Sector can produce Bastion units, and Gwishin is an advanced militant omnic group… They might not have the same goals, but if they worked together they could be devastating in terms of power.
Plus, Gwishin Bastion would potentially be canon and like imagine if they basically gave us an OW2 skin and we didn’t even know it
OW 1 was all about learning the past and getting the band back together (Both Talon and Overwatch);
For OW2 would be nice to learn about “The Present” and more about the Bad-Guys. Give me omnics, God-Ai, Talon. Let us play PVE as Talon; expand their organization.
Show side-characters, maybe getting together.
Hanzo becoming a vigilante, maybe meeting Soldier ,Ana and Mccree;
Give something for Pharah and Dva to do since they are both in the military.
Pair up Zarya with Torbjorn and Bastion AND/OR Zarya with Genji and Zennyata.
Show more about the world. How is South America holding up? Do Middle East, Africa and Central America have problems with omnics?
Let us defend South Korea, Junkertown and Einchenwalde.
And finally, battle a giant robot as the final mission.
I wonder what they will do with Ashe…she seems to be so disconnected from everyone else. If Mccree joins OW then maybe he can convince her to join? I think it will be interesting to see how the devs handle her because she’s really cool and interesting!
