There are always sides to each matter as well as perceptions. What you call freedom others such as myself call: chaos, frustration, disorganization, lack of structure, etc. All which lead up to a negative gameplay experience, therefore we want something better, hence role que. Role que brings order, stability, structure, better balance, better interactions, a better competitive system, a better gameplay experience in general.

I understand that theres people like you who have a different perception and that’s ok, it’s normal, I have been on the “receiving end” of being the minority on some opinion, and having to accept that things are not going to go the way I would prefer, it’s a part of life. Anyways, role que is coming and is going to have a positive impact on the game and the community, it already has had a positive impact on the league and it is almost guaranteed that it will be a good thing on the game in general.

It might have a rocky start, it is also normal when a big change like this happens, but it will pay off big time and the game will be better after the dust settles, that I have no doubt about.

Also regarding the QP classic on the arcade, I’m pretty sure it’s been stated that it’s going to be exactly as it is on live. As for it being permanent I think it will depend on it’s popularity, if people are playing it a lot, they will most likely keep it as a constant option.

That was total freedom. You could really always play whatever you wanted. The time the devs took this away and installed the system which will be outdated tomorrow was the right and best decision at that time. I would have stopped playing Ow if they hadnt done it after the first two months after release. It was terrible.
And so will it be with 2-2-2. For the majority of the playerbase. Some will leave but hopefully many will come to replace them, with a good way into the game from the beginning in qp and later as players in comp.

clarifications:

  1. a game isnt lost at its start unless one or more of the players decides that they simply cant play with the team that has been assembled. any team of any 6 characters can win, but that chance diminishes substantially when one or more players arbitrarily decides it is a loss before the spawn doors open

  2. playing the game itself is an act of leisure, not what is described in the statement quoted above - and this doesnt change no matter whether one is one of the 6 who lose, or the six who win

  3. an effective team can be created with any 6 characters. The key element is the players, not the characters

If you have no healers and no tanks, you will not win.
The exception: the other team is horrible in comparison.

Clarification: i have won with such teams many times even against good opposing teams.

  • Mocks the words “safe space” like South Park mocks it (which THAT show stopped trying to be funny years ago, shifting instead to raising a bunch of carefree Internet trolls)
  • Makes nonconstructive posts that do not add to discussion, but instead tear down people based on who they main, what they post, etc.

  • Invokes First Amendment on a website where the First Amendment does not apply.
